100% agree. I'm not so blinded by fandom (*cough* unlike Bin Dippers *cough*) that I don't see Dele diving when he definitely does. Like you, it also makes me cringe, but the instances where it's far more grey-area or he does actually get fouled do make me defensive of him.

Alas, I think Dele is getting the brunt of a football media who are quite spiteful towards Spurs for being the imposters ruining their usual top 4. They fucking wish that Liverpool were the most laudable team, but when that's not the case (organic development, new stadium, etc) they have to dig shit like this up to paint us as the bad guys.

Dier's interview with Ben Pearce hopefully points towards a professional/friends/family environment where Dele doesn't get too affected by the narrative the media has created.
I wonder if this could actually help us create a healthier version of that 'siege mentality' that Mourinho has instilled in his winning sides.

I don't think he's ever been sent off, just got a retrospective ban against West Brom.
 
The commentator in the Palace game at least acknowledged that Dele is gaining a reputation that is unfairly causing him a disadvantage.

I’m torn on Dele. He’s still a raw talent, and I think he picked up a lot of bad habits at MK Dons. He does dive, he does make bad tackles, and he does behave inappropriately at times. If he played for the Gooners I’d probably hate him too.

But he’s immensely talented. Not everything he tries pays off, but he’s a kid that can and does make things happen. Pochettino is someone who appreciates the rough and tumble of top flight football, so I can imagine he loves Dele’s wild side.
 
Absolutely love the lad. He has that nasty needling side to him on the pitch. He winds up oppo fans.
He’s absolutely great & does so much good stuff away from the pitch visiting sick children etc
He’s articulate & intelligent in interviews.
He’s even in his own porn film.
What’s not to love about him?

No one actually really wants to sell Dele do they? Lot of people saying there are people who,want to sell him, but I've not actually seen any. Drop him yes, seen a few of those.

So does anyone genuinely think he should be sold in the summer?
 
I hate diving in general, particularly when you forfeit a scoring chance in hopes of getting a favorable call. It’s not football.

Messi (yes....I know an extreme comparison) gets hacked but presses on. I love that.
 
I have no issue with Dele.

He back tracks, has amazing skill, I feel Poch is working hard with him and also building the team around Alli.

The understanding Kane has with Dele is also positive,

I like the fact he winds the other teams up, it is one of his traits. It is about time we had a player like that at Spurs.
 
He's going backward atm.

We are talking about diving instead of how good he is/going to be or his excellent performances week in week out.

The Problem here lies either on the manager for giving him the role that doesn't suit his strengths or him for not working on improving himself.
