To be honest, the fact we’ve tied the mandatory purchase to CL qualification makes this a little more palatable.

Lot of fucking money though for someone that looks alarmingly slow.

He is an incredible player. He is rather quick so what are you guys talking about? Slow?? You’ve never seen him play. 40 m would be worth it.

'Incredible player'

People are in full on cope mode with these signings. Fair enough be optimistic and hope for the best now that he looks likely to join, but let's not pretend he's been anything but massively underwhelming for 2 years now. We're signing him on the back of one breakout season in Italy.

All his goals and assists for Juventus, nice bonus is the video's only just shy of 4 mins long.

He looks pretty decent if you ask me. Sweeeet left foot

Looks pretty calm and composed in front of goal, especially for a young player. Seems to have good vision and an eye for his team mates as well.

I think he will have a good understanding on the pitch with Kane, possibly with Son as well.

I am by far happier about signing him than Traore, the Wolves bench warmer winger.

Tottenham working on deal to sign Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski.

Tottenham Hotspur are working on a deal to sign Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

The Athletic understands a deal could be a loan with an option or obligation to buy. Kulusevski's contract at Juventus runs until 2025.

Kulusevski, 21, has made 20 Serie A appearances for Juventus this season but has only started in half of those, completing the full 90 minutes just three times.

Tottenham’s head coach Antonio Conte has made it clear his new side must revamp their squad if they are to challenge at the top end of the Premier League. They currently sit seventh.

But the Premier League club have so far endured something of a frustrating month.

Tottenham were in talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Adama Traore only for the Spain international to agree a deal with Barcelona instead.

And another of their targets, Porto’s Luis Diaz, is in talks with Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Why do Spurs want a player like Kulusevski?

CHARLIE ECCLESHARE, TOTTENHAM CORRESPONDENT: An extra attacker to ease some of the burden on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min has been one of Spurs' priorities this window.

A player like Kulusevski would give them an additional threat in the final third, and help break down teams who sit deep and try and soak up pressure.

Spurs have struggled at times in recent weeks against this kind of opposition — most notably in the January 1 victory at Watford when they required a stoppage-time goal from Davinson Sanchez to claim a 1-0 win.

Why would Juventus let him go?

JAMES HORNCASTLE: Kulusevski was originally signed to play No 10 for Maurizio Sarri. He was named Serie A Young Player of the Year after single-handedly keeping Parma up.

But the churn at Juventus has not made it easy for the Sweden international to fulfil his potential. Being such a versatile attacker has also made it hard for him to settle on one position.

Juventus were expected to move players out after making the biggest signing of the January transfer window so far by paying €75m for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Happy with this. Seems to have a nice left foot, ability to make the final pass, something we've badly needed since Eriksen.

He's unlikely to have major cultural adaptation issues coming from Sweden and is still very young.

Just from a what we need pov, seems a better fit than Dias, who is more direct / similar to Son. Also older and coming from a very different culture - Colombia, non English speaking and from very poor background.

Since you have been quoting random posters from another forum i take that is what you are basing your opinion on. Maybe you should actually watch him play and base your opinion on that?

No signing is a guaranteed success but Kulu is a very intelligent player with great dribbling and passing abilities. Seems like Conte agrees too. You think he and spurs are making the decision just based what he did two years ago?

Not sure why we are prioritising a winger when we have much bigger holes in the team to fill first. Maybe this means the Bergwijn deal will go through then? Seems a shame.

No idea about this bloke but looks pretty slow and from what Juve fans have said about him it sounds like he plays the game at half-pace which sounds worrying.

And some were getting excited about Traore who had done what?

Think how Barcelona fans must feel.

To let Bergwijn go, as one of only 2 or 3 players that can score a goal would be like robbing from Peter to pay Paul.
