It is such a massive gamble though. It's the reason why Man Utd didn't give Giggs the position and in all honesty, probably the reason Levy didn't give Sherwood the full time position too.

David Dean was a continuation of that tradition as well.
I once got told,(but never confirmed it) that they plyed all those years in the champs league illegally because the Highbury pitch was too small.
Anyone shed light on this,or is this just me willing to believe anything that lot.
 
Don't know much about David Dein, but when seeing him interviewed on TV, you just knew he was a slippery wee cunt.

I remember when he was quizzed on the rumours of Gallas and Ashley cole swapping places, his demeanour was one of someone accused of something. Really defensive and acting like he'd been caught out doing something he shouldn't. Really weird response.
