If anything we should look closer to home and splash big dosh on 18 year old Shaw... He's been immense for southampton and with him under AVB and co I'm sure he'd develop the way we want regardless of fee (throw in a sports shrink and it'd make it even easier for him)

Think he played there against Forest, in Spain. I also thought he did against Charlton in the FA Cup but might be wrong on that one. He was our best player on the pitch that day, so yeah actually, doubt he was at LB
 
Come on guys didn't you listen to the podcast? He played full back in that pre season game against Hearts and came on when we were up 5-0 or something and got told off for attacking too much :roflmao:
 
Using Chiriches as left back is an awful idea. He never played in this position, he can be used only as CB - right or left, right back or defensive mf. Imo, he can be a great replacement for Kyle Walker. He's very weak in aerial duels and in PL this can be fatal for him. But his speed and tehnique will make him a great right back. He played 10 minutes against Aston Villa in this position, it seems that AVB also considers this option. One question please: Who's Kyle Walker substitute? Naughton can play RB?

Yeah Kyle Naughton can cover right / left (although lame).

Kaboul has played there before also. Not as prominent going forward though.

Chiriches could be a good option.
