No. Our system of one striker isnt suited to a selfish player

I've said it since day 1 with Defoe that he offers 2 things:

1. Goals.
2. Fuck all.

In Soldado we have a striker who scores goals, holds up the ball in the final third, and gets other players involved.

Defoe is actually detrimental to the team when he isnt scoring, yesterday he wasnt picking out Eriksen's runs and was constantly running down his channel, now im not saying Eriksen played badly because of that, but it was a contributing factor.

Its simple really, Defoe plays in Europe, and comes off the bench in the PL.

Considering he got 2 starts this past week, No, i dont think we are overlooking him.

The way the play our striker needs to offer more than just the ability to shoot. Defoe doesn't.

Unless he scores he has little to no effect in most games.
