I think Conte has done a good job in a vacuum, but the timing is all wrong. We badly need a youthful led rebuild and he’s not a nurturer.
I get it that Conte had a target of top 4 so probably has to play his best 11 every game. But behind the scenes do we really know what his coaching staff have been doing to nurture other players ?
let's face the reality:
last january we put in 2 players and they were 2 first XI players. the team improved all of a sudden thanks to those 2 players.
last summer we put in 1 first XI player (perisic), and we improve the bench (forster>gollini, lenglet>rodon, bissouma>ndombele, sarr>winks, richarlison>bergwijn)
if the coach does not use the bench it's clear that we worsen the results, because we have the same squad of last year (that barely reached the top4), more matches to play, and also injuries (romero, kulu, richi). add to all this the collapse of Lloris and son's performances and here we are
