Stand with us in support of Mary Earps and all female goalkeepers around the world!

You may have read the recent article regarding Nike refusing to sell Mary Earps’ goalkeeper shirt and alongside this the refusal of Nike to sell any female goalkeeper shirts and Adidas’ decision not to sell any goalkeeper shirts from the Womens World Cup 2023.

WHY?

Mary has tried to resolve this issue, even offering to fund the shirts herself so fans would not be let down, but why should she? It seems that she was even left out of the promotional pictures when the Lionesses kit was launched in April ahead of the World Cup. Mary’s Manchester United Goalkeeper shirt was the third best selling shirt and sold out, which clearly demonstrates demand, so why has the decision not to sell the shirt for the World Cup been made?

We need to unite, and demand this decision is over turned. We need to show togetherness and support Mary and ask Nike to rethink their decision. Let’s make them see just how important our female goalkeepers are. How respected they are and how many young girls aspire to join them in the future.

Any type of exclusion is unacceptable in this day and age and we need to show we will not stand for it.

Mary and all female goalkeepers, we love and respect you. You are inspirational and we are behind you.

Didnt watch it.. I just find the hype and over reaction all too much,

From Naga (whatever her name is on BBC morning news) asking the weather girl if she was excited for the game and getting a luke warm response - She is feckin Scottish Naga !.. Then going on to say the whole of Great Britain are behind the Lioness's. I bet a million pounds they are not !

The call for their manager to be the men's manager ffs.. completely different game. On what evidence could the ladies manager manage the men's team - completely different game.

Having said that I really hope the Ladies game develops, but it needs to do it at a steady pace and not try to be the men's game or "better" too soon. It will fail.

So, didn't watch the final, but on the plus side.. This morning, I fitted a new drive wheel pulley and a Clutch/Brake cable to the Mower that I have been meaning to do for months... So not all bad...

Outrageous.

I've signed it.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see the women’s game getting increasingly popular over the years. More and more people are getting priced out of watching the mens game, and the all the shit surrounding it is a real turn off. The ‘fan’ invasion at the men’s Euro final was a national embarrassment. A few years ago a women’s game was nearly unwatchable (I don’t mean that disrespectfully), but it’s come on immensely with the financial investment from the clubs and the FA.
I’d honestly hope that if people turn away from the elite level of the mens game they might refocus attention on the men’s game at lower levels.

I have been frustrated by the sheer number of people ( non football fans ) in recent years who seem totally oblivious that the WSL etc is branding driven rather than quality driven. And there is an obtuseness in regards to the men’s game outside the Premier League level, unless it’s Wrexham or Salford of course.

There is a space for the womens game to grow into, but it’s a current “thing” and is being elevated well over its product
value, eventually it’s got to stand on its own two feet.

If we were to remove the Premier League branding that’s attached to the WSL how much buy-in would it really have from the wider public based on product quality?

And if we don’t remove the branding it is still the same highly questionable organisations (FA / Sly TV etc ) that govern that part of football too.

Everyone is free to choose where they spend their cash and I can say my £30 for Brisbane Road would be spent on the Orient mens team and not Tottenham Hotspur ladies.

Orient are not pricing people out, they would love to sell out each home game. And they don’t have Sly TV or the Premier League bullshit at every turn.

Phil (the genius) Neville in the Times last week “Serena Weigman” is on par with Guardiola and deserves a salary to match. I fucking shit you not:

Sarina Wiegman on a par with Guardiola and deserves salary to match talent

From what I saw today, she’s more like a shit Tony Pullis.

Serious answer.

No, underage football should not equate to statues etc.
Winning the senior WC does.

No, to equal pay, but only because the women's game doesn't produce the revenue. The same way champo players are not on equal pay.
If it did then yes it should be equal pay.

Serious question;

Would it bother you so much that there might be an extra bank holiday or a statue outside of Wembley ?

If so, why ?
I don't support the England team mate. I could careless. Don't watch any other teams games regularly other than Spurs mens. As for a bank holiday yep it 100%:would bother me we are a productivity Black hole and a walking obesity nightmare, we need more reasons to sit around getting drunk like we need a hole in the head. Hope I've answered your questions to your satisfaction. ...Oh look mute point😑

Specialists in failure should be the English motto.
Should I do the same then for you? Why do you and any other cunt support an English team if you’re going to spout shit like this? I suggest you and all the other anti English brigade fuck off and support some other team because if you said this shit next to me at Spurs I’d punch you. I haven’t watched any of the tournament as it does nothing for me . But if others do then fair enough and good luck to them. But I’m sick of so called Spurs fans having a dig at the Country that my club comes from. So again you can all fuck off!!!
