Nice goal by Samuel Shashoua, good balance and finish. All in all, good performance it seems like against the club with the greatest academy in the history of the universe.
We didn't even travel with our best boys. Easy.

Ismail Azzaoui has left to join Wolfsburg. A real shame.
Really liked this kid. Had a bit of stardust on his boots.Ismail Azzaoui has left to join Wolfsburg. A real shame.
Shaq to be our3rd2nd striker #itk

Joining their first team?
Disappointing news.
The word is that for Azzaoui the fee was ...
A little over £2m transfer fee with a 25% sell on clause and £6m buy-back clause.
...That's pretty good, imo.

Really, really dissapointed Azzaoui has gone. He is obviously very raw but you could see he had bags of talent. I think Wolfsburg just put together the right deal. They offered a respectful amount of money to us, saw the sense in us getting a sell-on-fee & buy back (which just basically means if they accept a bid in the future from someone else they have to accept an offer from us at no more than £6m). They could offer Azzaoui a fast track into the first team which is great for him (rumour is they want him in the first XI by xmas) ...its a deal any club would have to be pretty hard-hearted to turn down.
As to strikers in the youth ranks...not a whole lot. Harrison is a clinical finisher but is far too lightweight and pedestrian at the moment. He can link play well but only when he's moved back into the no.10 role. It seems like he's got both aspects to his game, poacher and link-up but isn't yet able to put them together at the same time. A Premier League game would completely pass him by. Will Miller has played up front but imho is by no stretch a striker. He's better floating in behind. Shaq isn't going to make it, he's plateaued into a not quite League Two striker. Sonupe has been used as a striker before and even looked half decent but I don't think he has the phsyical strength and power to pull it off at senior level, he's far more comfortable out on the wing. Ryan Loft is a big strong lad but lacks technique, his touch is often poor and his finishing is nothing special. Oteh & Sterling are small and raw and aren't making the sort of rapid progress that would make them an option for Poch. Bennett has played up front for England but is much more of a natural wide player who cuts inside. There's noone in the U16s who looks like a man among boys.
Its slim pickings for Poch, which makes our decision not to strengthen with powerful striker all the more baffling.
