Tune in an hour early and all you'll get is a couple of retired players of middling ability and less erudition droning on about how, in the clip they have just watched, the defender should obviously have done A instead of B, despite the pundits in question having repeated done B throughout their careers.

I guess this is what Ange means when he talks mentality shift.

A part of our fanbase can't even muster up the belief that we can beat an injury ravaged? Newcastle team with ELEVEN fit players from their squad when we have one player missing.

I think it's whether we recognise what should be a weakened outfit and show the necessary gusto.

It's so fcuking easy for people to post optimistic tripe, without having any sense of what is needed to turm a team into winners.

And having a squad that is mostly fit is very differemt from a squad that has the necessary competence.

I think we lose, because we are not at the necessary point as yet, which is where the top 3 are.

When we do start to win such games, the mentality of doubting fans will change.

Pretty sure we lose today.

Newcastle give everything and will be too strong for us.

We lack physicality and rely more so on precision and technique, which at times fails us.

I can't see enough in us for games like this, and that is the challenge for the summer.

Hopefully Villa lose, which is a game with a double-edged sword.

They had the same attackers in the game at the Lane when we beat them 4-1...... Except now, their overall team is even worse due to injuries whilst we've added Van de Ven, Maddison and Werner to ours.

Doesn’t mean as much as we’d like to think. Home advantage massive etc etc.

Am nervous. Want a Villa away performance as opposed to a Fulham away performance. You know we are capable of both. Which Spurs show up?

We very rarely pick up 3 points away from home these days

I can't remember the last time other than villa

Have a feeling it was forest in November

Thank you for the help, Comrade Chairman!

No you're right, football is funny like that.

But the performance hasn't happened yet. It's fine to be nervous, most are before games. But the majority of us should feel alot more confident than Newcastle fans should when you consider who they've got missing and the problems they have.

Oh be quiet.

As if support is just about optimsm and as if that brings success.

All the optimism from you and no doubt others shone through in last season's fixture.

Pathetic.

Nobody can question my support. I just don't think it has to come without perspective.

Well you can take this post as me questioning your support.

You’re permanently negative.

If we win today, you don’t get to celebrate. Remember that.

Of the players they are missing how many seriously weaken their first team? Botman and Joelinton, that's it really.
