Every transfer window thread has always been started as a joke in the days before the prior window close when the feeling is we won't get the players we need.

Genuine question for any accountants here - do you know the difference between 'loan with obligation to buy' and 'permanent transfer with payments spread over a number of years' (which is surely pretty much all transfers). Don't they effectively amount to exactly the same thing? :/

Loan with obligation wouldn't hit the books until a year later.....

Purchase with payment plan; the amortation of the full fee would still kick in from day 1. The payment plan only affects the cash end.
