If this is the level of effort we are going to see from Harry this season, we should have taken 75 million for him.
I said all along take the money but that is conditional on us actually spending it properly on good players.

Of course that's a fucking pipe dream so we're left with the worst of all worlds. No money, disinterested player and a year of fucking stagnation while he saves himself for next summer when he will try to get the fuck out of here again.

Looked sluggish and played poorly. Don't really blame him, he doesn't have pace, we should be surrounding him with speed and movement. Midfield offered him nothing today.

He's not a winner in that sense of the word. That's why he wanted (and wants) out.

Kane was really poor today and looked extremely limited. There's no hiding that. But put him in a better team and he would no doubt show the quality we all know he has.

Kane and Son need each other if we're to see the best of them. Let's not ignore the fact that Kane set up plenty of Son's goals last season. Replace Kane with Son today up top and I have no doubt we'd still lose this game.
I think that can't be guaranteed though. Still think Son is better at creating his own chances.. whereas Kane needs a little help to be setup on that front.

Son is more likely to make something from nothing. But with just one in the side and not both we're a weaker team by a distance.

Kane has been like this for us for several years. He lost his pace and looks sluggish. He doesnt press like he used to. You could have prime Messi or Ronaldo for us today and they would have done fuck all.

Give Kane the ball in and around the box though and he comes to life.

He didn't get any service today. Cant expect one player to carry us. There was no creative outlet in that team today. Give it to Lucas and expecting him to run through Palace is asking too much.

It was a poor team effort today all round.

He was dreadful today, one of the worst on the pitch. He has some very big games coming up where he needs to show up.

Harry’s shooting ability is beyond world-class: he is arguably the world’s best sniper, certainly in the very top tier. Similarly his vision and ability to pick a pass out are also world-class: it is what makes him so lethal when he drops a bit deeper to receive the ball.

But for all of those skills, Harry’s biggest weakness is his speed, in two different dimensions: he has neither speed nor quickness. I would rate him as not just average, but below average in both of these areas for an elite attacker. The upshot of this, IMO, is that his ability to literally grab a game and take it over is much more limited than you might expect from an attacker of his caliber. If he’s not getting service from midfielders, he will not score; and when he does not have wingers making smart runs that he can feed, he will not assist. He will disappear.

Worry more about the lack of any quality into him than any apparent lack of effort.

Yes, but there is also perspective.

We were hamstrung today and whilst Kane might have justifiably been tired, it's times like today when you need the experiened few to lead by example. In other words to compensate.

He is not alone but as a club we are completely bereft of role-models of excellence.

As I said earlier it would have been one of Vieira's easier team talks.

Simple. Put him in a better team with better players around him and he won't have games where he dissapears.

It doesn't matter whether it's Kane, Salah, Lewandowski or Mbappe or top for us today.

Unfortunately our sniper is camping out somewhere on the beach in Normandy while the war is being fought at Pearl Harbour

How exactly are you supposed to service a player whose movement is always towards the man with the ball? Watch how 100 year old Ronaldo took his second goal today. Luke Shaw didn’t need a shirt with no. 10 on the back to service Methuselah

You are comparing very good to Great though.

Completely different level despite the extra 7 years.

And one has just returned as opposed to the other who wants to escape.
