Match ratings in here

Hugo: 7 not sure what happened at 1st goal, but had a couple of very crucial saves and catches later on.

Walker: 7
Dawson: 6
Caulker: 5 Completely wrongfooted for 2nd goal
Vertonghen 7.5 good fullback game, was everywhere + assist (Spurs MOM)

Parker: 5 wasteful and at times actually slows down our passing game.
Dembele: 5.5 looked bright but not much came off in truth. Needs to take more chances in his passing.
Siggy: 7 alright game, doesn't have pace but tries everything to compensate
Holtby: 6.5 nothing comes off for this kid, but good tracking and effective pressing today. Also, I noticed VERY often, where he didn't get the pass, despite being in a good position to recieve. Very odd.

Dempsey: 3 Shocking game. Doesn't look match fit, shouldn't start or take up bench space. Terrible decisionmaking in the final third. Dummy just edges him up to 3.
Adebayor: 7 best game this season though still looks unfit and sluggish

Huddlestone: 5 not too bad, despite the harsh words we gave him in the match thread. Good passes and moreso good decisions, but as Dempsey doesn't look fit.
Carroll: 5.5 Very lively and takes up some good positions to build attacks, handles the ball well, passes well and is very proactive.

AVB: 4 Firstly IMHO he put up the wrong team. Secondly he waited a whole lot of time where we did nothing and got nothing. Thirdly, subs choices very debatable. E.g. BAE could have provided very good width when we struggled to open Everton up.

Also, for our next games he will need to solve the issue of our Dembele/Parker axis, which looks more dysfunctional for each game passing. Chelsea central midfield runners will murder us if we do not sort it out.

MOM: Anichebe, really rattled our defence, good luck to him in the last games.

Adebayor - 8 Finally showing a little bit of his old self.

Got really lost for the second, got underneath the cross for the first, despite later being climbed upon.

It was Caulker who got really lost, fella. And he was nailed-on-crystal-clear fouled for the first, first getting two handed push in the back, then getting two elbows on top of his shoulders when trying to jump - what was he going to do about that? Jagielka should have been booked and the goal written off.

Apart from that, my ratings were based on that he was one of our best players on the ball, going forward as well, and made surging runs off the ball into the box as late as 92nd minutes.

Lloris- 7
Walker- 8.5
Dawson- 6
Caulker- 5.5
Vertonghen- 4 (Not a fullback, not quick enough, not through fault of his own)
Parker- 6.5
Dembele- 6.5
Holtby-7
Dempsey- 4
Sigurdsson- 8.5
Adebayor- 8.5

Eh, more than one person can be at fault for the goal, but Vertonghen wasn't exactly great in that move. And yeah, like I said, clear foul for the equaliser, but it doesn't change the fact he got underneath it and then had to move backwards into Jagielka who could then keep him down relatively easy.

Lloris-7 Sharp when our defence wasn't

Walker-8.5 MOTM Always an outlet and seemed to terrify Baines only pace we had today
Dawson-5 Slow and not aerially dominant
Caulker-4 Looked out of his depth
Vertonghen-6.5 Does put in a shift but categorically a centre back, gorgeous cross though

Parker-7 Aside from a few loose passes thought he was terrific 'Parker wise' driven and commited
Dembele-7 Think he remembered he could shoot today, not on target though, still a monster
Holtby-7 Very calm and assured, nice little pendulum player, needs to show some magic though
Siggurdson-7.5 Such a tricky player, I thought he looked comfortable on the left, corners too lofted

Dempsey-1 Genuinely non existant other than a dive, not a hater in general just a fuck awful game
Adebayor-7.5 Looked sharp(ish) but more importantly confident, best game 2012-13 by a mile

Hudd-7 Not many players can pass a ball like that
Carrol-6 Did nothing wrong

AVB-7 Thought when the team played like he asked them to we looked impressive without being deadly, options are limited though, need some genuine width unless Walker decides to be a beast for the next three months

Agreed, very much.

How could he do differently, when he's first pushed and then climbed? There is literally nothing he can do nothing he could have done differently. If a 1.90m centreback gets away with climbing onto your back right in front of an assistent refereree, what exactly is he supposed to do? He backtracked and was primed to jump, the fouled :avbshock:
