Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The scouse fans copped it that day, ahem, axe weilding Spurs fan took the defeat badly. There are newspaper reports out there somewhere, over 100 arrests. Horrible day as we were 3 minutes away from the win, Archie hit the post late on too. Dreadful day.
I was at that game . I remember that Liverpool marked all our players from goal kicks apart from Paul Miller. They knew he would then just fire the ball up the pitch and they got the ball back.
Souness clattered tony galvin twice in first 15 mins and he was never a factor after that.
We hung on gamely but it wasn’t to be.

I have

Your problem is that you make assumptions and then treat them as fact,

I have followed the stadium build in depth and certainly in August (forget April) it was looking like it was going to need a big last push to get it ready - and as ready as WHL was in the season before we moved out when it looked like (and was) a building site.

So accept that 'finished' was never what the club or anyone watching the build expected - all that was promised was 'safe enough' even if not looking great.

Pure speculation based upon information in the public domain.

Lots of electrical connections powering safety systems need testing - and following identification of the problem it will be fixed.

So the process could take a few weeks - or a few months.

Nobody knows until the problem is identified
And yet.

Had a minor heart attack viewing the latest pics that a fire had started on the right and without adequate fire safety installed only I was aware!

Great shot of the stadium and surrounding area from above (shot today ?), borrowed from RobH on SSC.

Gives a real sense of how complete the stadium is and what's left to do on the exterior

What the stadium looked like in August.

Please understand the difference between 'usable' and 'finished;

Better still. just answer these simple questions you keep on avoiding :

'Do you now accept that the stadium is now physically 'not quite complete' but seems to be usable - Yes or no ?

If 'Yes' - that will be a big step forward

Do you accept that the problem is that the 'Critical safety systems' is the problem now and the reason why we cannot move into the stadium ?

Yes or no ?

And if Yes that will be a big step forward

And if the Critical Safety Systems are the problem now - why do you think they were not a big problem back in August or September ?

Sounds like Poch is hedging his bets. Bracing himself and the team for the worst so they aren't mentally let down as a precaution. Would make sense with the delays to not let any external goings on effect the team as we chop those wins down as we enter the last couple of months of the season

Players mentally let down? If they were originally that bothered I don't think they are now. Too much time has passed, there would be only 5 home games of the season left, I think they are happy to stay at Wembley now. Wembley has been home for nearly 2 seasons, the players have adapted magnificently after a tough start and the results prove that

I doubt they care if we now move in during the summer

I feel like it's more for an overall club let down in all honesty. The circus that goes along with the will we/ won't we situation I think Poch is just planning for us not to make the move and if we do it's a pleasant surprise. Low expectations and all of that

What will always be on my mind is when the club were aware of this issue with the safety systems.

I just do not believe the 1st August there was no issue whatsoever and then by the 10th there was a surprising issue that has not been rectified by the middle of February. That’s 6 months.

They must have know something was up.

Let’s just hope it’s something they can actually fix sooner rather than later.

The Stadium is a huge project with many different contractors working on it at any time.

Its Mace's job to liaise with the contractors and check with them that they think they can complete the job on time, on spec etc and report back to the 'project meeting' where the club will be.

Of course there will be delays and Mace, program manager, will be joggling lots of balls to ensure the stadium as a whole can be said to be ready (not finished) by a set date.

I suspect someone dropped a ball, and should have reported big problems with the fire safety systems a month or so they did, depending upon what was wrong, as testing must have started much earlier ( maybe June). But instead whoever found problems on testing was a bit too laid back and didn't ring alarm bells until far too late.

BTW the main contractor on fire safety (who in turn will have sub contracted out some work, so it makes tracking problems more difficult) is a firm called Tyco who are big specialist company in that business, and part of a huge company with multi billion £ revenues, so should know what they are doing. But it maybe that the specification was incorrect that Tyco was following, or one of a number of other reasons. So finding who to blame can be a real can of worms.

I think when I like some folks here thought back in dec the united game would be the unveiling and then that didnt come to fruition thats when I honestly gave up on getting back this season. I am of the feeling now that IF we do manage to get a few games at home it will be a bonus for us as fans tbh but maybe not the players. I am dubious whether it would be advantageous to the team themselves to go through the upheaval and change of routine if it is only for the last couple of games. The boys have put a massive effort into playing at that shithole since the old lady got levelled and they deserve massive credit for that-so do the fans who go all the time, every time I go I say its the last time and I hate the place but I like to think of what is eventually coming our way in this one of the most beautiful stadiums in the game and look forward to that day no matter when it finally comes.

The only real issue I have here is that season ticket holders for whl should have been charged cat c pricing all season.
I know someone who works for a company who installs those systems, he says that it's legit as the cause of the delay.the only reason he isn't working on it is cause his company has a full order book.( He knows people that were working on it)

And I don't believe for one second that Levy lied about it. If you believe that then you either believe he knowingly lied to the FA, the EPl,the other clubs, the supporter base, the council, and the NFL. Or that all of them, with the exception of the supporters, were in on it. Neither make any sense
