Cliche alert: just about the best signing we could make this year inreckon. Probably our most important player. He clearly loves it here.

This past week taught us 2 things:

1. Poch was pivotal.

2. POCH is pivotal (see "most important signing").

For a creative player, who you are creating for probably plays a part. Few hold more appeal than Harry on that front right now i'd imagine (esp. if players are as obsessed with stats as some fans are. Kane?).

Many a factor can play into things once its established a player's motives arent purely money and easy success (which they evidently aren't for a number of our best and "underpaid" players.... At some point surely one steps back and thinks why ARE they still here...?).

Chuffed to bits regardless.

I agree, the manager signalling his intent was invaluable and for me he is the biggest reason we have been in the CL regularly and able to keep our top talent of the likes of Eriksen, Vertonghen, Lloris, Dembele, Dele and Son happy over all these seasons. Kane is an unusual and rare case given his Spurs upbringing but again I doubt we'd have kept him this long under the likes of Sherwood.

And you're right, I'm sure playing with Kane is a part of why Eriksen wants to stay.

What's best for the Team.

Players do talk to each other about their earnings. When they find out that much inferior players from rival teams earning 2x or 3x as much might negatively affect their morale and performances on the pitch.

Fuck you’re stupid. You don’t think Eriksen already knows how much other players in his position make? He’s signing the contract so obviously he’s happy with it and doesnt care about money as much as other cunts out there.

All it cost was a trip by Poch in Uncle Joe's private jet to Copenhagen and dinner at Eriksen's favorite restaurant, how good is that!

He hasn't signed yet you muppet. It's all just rumors.
As is this, from this morning's sport.es website (I'll post the Spanish and Google's dodgy translation - perhaps Bill Madrid Bill Madrid could clarify?).

The sports management of FC Barcelona has done the homework, as President Josep Maria Bartomeu said last week and has defined the priority objectives, and also possible alternatives that would not necessarily mean a 'chrome for chrome', but the betting by different players characteristics taking advantage of the polyvalence of some cracks of the current template.

Perhaps the most significant case is that of Christian Eriksen , the midfielder of Tottenham Hotspur, who is written on the agenda of Barça sporting officials as a possible target, even though the club confirms the hiring of Antoine Griezmann.

It is clear that these are two players with different profiles, because the Blaugrana technicians have the versatility of Philippe Coutinho , who can adapt both to the center of the field and to the left, to reinforce both lines.

FIRST OF THE LIST

Griezmann is first on the list , for many reasons. Barça has already spoken with the French striker and knows of his desire to grow sporting, quite possibly in the Camp Nou. The quality of Antoine is contrasted in the League during his eight years with Real Sociedad and Atlético.

On the other hand, the clause of 100 million euros that goes into effect on July 1 is 'reasonable' considering their talent and how the transfer market has exploded. Barça thinks so, and so do the rest of the teams that follow the French international.

At Barça they think that the French striker will end up seducing the idea of donning the number 7 -free after the departure of an ex-offense, Arda Turan- along with Leo Messi.

But Blaugrana officials are also aware that the departure of Andres Iniesta is a drain of talent very important in the midfield, impossible to alleviate with a single player and that opens the door to the incorporation of alternatives in a line where in the last campaign did not work the mentioned Turan or André Gomes.

A DIFFERENT OPTION

The sports management, which has planned the 2018-19 campaign with coach Ernesto Valverde, has prepared a list of possible reinforcements and Eriksen is among the favorites.

It is not the only option, but they value that of failing Griezmann, a possible bet would be to form the trident with Coutinho, Messi and Luis Suárez. The midfielder Tottenham midfielder would strengthen the list of midfielders.

It is not an easy operation: Tottenham is one of the richest clubs in the Premier and Danish, for which he paid Ajax Amsterdam 13.5 million euros in 2013, has a contract until 2020.

In addition, the 'Spurs' are about to open their new stadium, and have renewed the coach, Pochettino, who has been promised to retain figures such as Dele Alli, Harry Kane or Eriksen himself , who sees his future in London. Of course, for the moment, Barça has not crossed his path...

The Google translation tells you all you need to know really.

Worth remembering that Sport is little more than a comic, far worse than Mundo Deportivo, the other Barcelona-based sports paper which in turn makes the Madrid-based Marca (and As even) look like Pulitzer Prize stuff

I like the last line..pochettino sees his future in london. Of course, barca aint approched him

I may be wrong, but hasn't he gone on the record to say as ex espanyol, barca aint for him?

Get the contract signed and watch him go from strength to strength.

I wouldn't be suprised to see him drop into a Modric role.

We're missing a little spark at times and I think there's only a few players in the league who could do it like Eriksen can.

If Moose goes then I can see it.

Edit to make sense!
