Mourinho isn't a coach of flair. He's a coach of tactics. Doesn't know how to develop natural talent.
I think it's down to the lack of a real playing career, even a crap one. You can study and learn tactics, you can study and learn scouting, but understanding how to coach individual players to help them maximize their talent and take the next step up is more an experiential thing.

Looks buzzin'

You only have to look at the first goal to see the importance of a full back like Rose - Davies simply doesn't take on players the way Rose does. The ability to cut in with pace and power and win fouls in such situations.

I like Davies, he's performed INCREDIBLY well in Rose's absence but he's not a wing back in an all firing Pochettino team.

Never doubted his quality but have no doubt Rose plays only for himself and fully intends to go on strike should city or Utd or possibly Chelsea come in this summer, as long as he continues to do his job properly fair enough but i have no love for Rose and much prefer Davies.

Best left wing back in England. By a street.
Absolutely vital he stays at Spurs. Selling him would make a terrible statement to the likes of Harry, Dele, Toby etc....

Funny that people are eager to slag off players like Bale, whilst fawning over Rose and calling for the head of players who actually are loyal like Davies.

Somewhat disagree, to be clear Rose is a better fullback than Davies when on form (pre-injury), Rose was really poor for the first 20-30mins yesterday, gave away the ball countless times with a poor passes and lost his 1v1's. He didn't give up though (which is great) his run which lead to the free kick that we scored from wasn't anything skilful or fast, it was just brute force. He improved with every minute of the game after that run, passing improved and started to show a bit more of his ability on the ball. Davies cuts in just a well as Rose, he scores and sets up goals by doing this just as Rose does. Davies however is found wanting when he try's to go on the outside of the defender, this is where Rose really has the edge on Davies, it means he win's more of his personal 1 v 1's than Davies. As the oppo defender their homework would show them that all they need to do is show Davies down the line, with Rose the oppo have to double up on him as he can cut inside or out, Rose still exploit's this scenario as he often will attempt to between both his markers usually him winning a foul on the edge of the oppo box. As it stands there is little to separate them on form if you take into all aspects of their games, but yesterday might provide a big mental boost for Rose and push him on a bit.
