Hi All,

Long term reader of the blog, but first venture on to the forums! I’ve decided to do a project over the course of the World Cup- for each day of the tournament I'm going to attempt to make a meal from one of the countries playing in the finals that day.

I'll be recording the process in photos and drawings, and writing about it, as well as events of the tournament in general at my blog, and on twitter-

Hope some of you might be interested to see what I’m up to, and I’d appreciate if you’d follow me and help spread the word.
So far I've done Brazil, Chile, Japan, Switzerland, USA, Algeria, Croatia, Greec and today was England!

Cheers,
Graeme

Curious to see what Dutch dinner you'll cook, 'boerenkool' or 'zuurkool' maybe?

Like the initiative, nice idea.

Planning Stampot Sla mate, though I've never tried it- would you recommend either of your suggestions instead? :)
You prolly already know this but stamppot is a umbrella term for multiple types of stamppotten. Which one do you mean with 'sla'? I'd go for the 'boerenkool' stamppot if i were you, its the most popular here.

Maybe you can find an Enlgish one but here is a Dutch recipe, you might want to google translate it: http://www.stamppotrecepten.net/boerenkool-stamppot/

This is how it 'should' look

Woah that looks fantastic! Sla is one with eggs according to the recipe I found- but the one you posted there looks tremendous! What beer would you recommend to accompany it?
You can always just buy a normal Heineken, but a 'brown beer', or 'old brown' (dont know what it's called in English) (Heineken sells it, also Leffe is amazing) would be even better.
