I’m not ‘defending’ him. He was a total bore of a coach and I hated his football. I wanted him gone long before most and saw the flaws in Conteball early on .

But overall his PPG when he had a reasonable midfield available wasn’t bad. Results in general weren’t awful till it turned extremely sour.

We were incredibly boring though. And when you’re not winning anything, being dull is a crime. At least give fans something to enjoy. Even teams battling relegation get bored of dull managers and roll the dice eventually.
Totally Agree.

Just don't know why anyone would bring him up. His last season was one of the most miserable so I would rather forget him.

It kept getting put on screen that we scored most goals from corners last season. However with both the Italian set piece specialist and Kane gone it is not happening again. We really do need to improve on the effectiveness of our corner taking. Yesterday they were disappointing.
I do hope the feel good factor at the ground and presumably lack of protest re Kane’s departure will not persuade Levy to keep the money in the Bank and not buy anyone else.

Super simplistic comment there dude void of any context.
Man Utd were shite because we made them shite. I love it how fans think that if a team creates a chance against you and miss then they are shite. Every game we play in the opposition will create chances. So far we’ve conceded from a dodgy pen and a deflection and that’s it. On Saturday they hit the post, Fernandes missed a sitter with an header and Vicario made a great save from Rashford. That was their chances. The header from Casemiro wouldn’t have counted as he was offside. If anyone can tell me how three chances equates to so many chances then let me know.

...100% agree with this - that ManU side was shite tbh - if there are any decent sides and we gift them this many chances in the 1st half, we're going to get smoked...

You agree with poor statistical analysis?

Re-read fella.

My take on Conte v Ange…..

I think Ange has changed the culture. As a result the players are enjoying themselves and building confidence while not being scared to make mistakes. Their creativity is being encouraged rather than stifled. Ange is backing them.

We are still a work in progress and there will be games that we lose instead of win regardless of opponent and performances but Ange will continue to back them and shoulder much of the blame. He is building a team.

Conte never shouldered blame and created a blame environment even went so far as to do it in public That will never get the best out of anyone.

Bissouma is quite simply an obvious example of this and I don’t feel it has much to do with systems. It’s about confidence, belief and togetherness.

Watching Bissouma after the match was more telling than his (fantastic) performance during the match. He is clearly walking on clouds

Passing - Rom > Biss: a very doable and common pass.... Those tards add up.
Carrying - Regular strides out from the back.

It's a matter of accumulation rather than a flurry of dynamic creative plays which might otherwise see a player like Madz rank highly.

Not knocking it though... Just rationalising. He was excellent.

Very good analysis of the game...it's got videos and everything...

I loved this moment - this was the one I was talking about in my post above

It looks simple, but it’s the sort of thing that Hoiberg just isn’t capable of. He wouldn’t even look will be aware that he can do that. He would just bump the ball back straight from where it’s come from because he be worried about the possible pressure.

Biss took out 2 lines of press and about 5 players just by staying calm, realizing UTD were loading up on that side of the pitch and he could just turn.

Then smoked Antony who had to foul him or we had a really dangerous situation on the break.
