Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Can only reiterate what's in the statement from The FC.

Personally nothing will change immediately, but hopefully the fans will be considered, hell even consulted, the next time the Club want to sign a contract similar to this.

There's a simple fact, forget all the other bullshit, arguments for and against, market value, supply/demand etc. The club, despite a few years ago running the 'Out the Tout' campaign, are now offering fans the opportunity to fleece each other out for tickets legally. They will take your ST off you for giving it to a mate for a game, but they will allow you to charge a premium to a stranger, who may not even be a Tottenham supporter. And they've done this without even considering the impact.

My greatest fear though is that it's used as an excuse to up ticket prices in the future. StubHub is proof to the club that people are willing to pay more. It doesn't matter how much someone has invested in the club previously, only what they can afford to pay now, it doesn't even matter if they follow Spurs, if they have the money then they can get in over someone who doesn't.

Eventually most of us will have to make a decision whether they can afford to continue to go to Tottenham. StubHub is another factor in a long line that is bring this day ever closer.

If that doesn't make you want to sign a petition so that the Club take our opinion seriously then I don't know what will.

Just signed it. It makes me sick that some season ticket holders are allowed to rip off fellow supporters, I would give anything to have a season ticket and would go to every match. I dread to think of the ludicrious prices that tickets to the Woolwich home match will be advertised for.

I am really dismayed that the club signed-up to this, considering the 'Out the Tout' campaign of a few years ago.

SnubHub is just legalised ticket-touting. #SnubHub

Those of you who’ve been with The Fighting Cock from the beginning will automatically know our position on the StubHub deal with Tottenham Hotspur. We won’t bore you by going over all that again. We know it’s wrong. Most of you know it’s wrong. We also know that alone we can’t force change, no matter how much we talk about it on the podcast or write about it in these pages. We have formed a partnership with some of the […]

They should just limit the amount that you are allowed to mark your ticket up at. Say 25%.

Then the seller gets their money back, Stubhub get and Tottenham get their cut as well.

A £40 ticket going for £50 is not so bad. Not sure if this is feasible though.

So you make a £20 profit on cat a, money back on cat b, and a £10/15 loss on cat c. Oh and Spurs charge you £170 finance if you cannot buy your ticket outright.

That is the point though mate, everyone involved in the transaction is looking to make money:
1. You the ticket holder
2. Spurs
3. StubHub
4. ebay
This combination has pushed up the price of the ticket up. Even if you have no intention of making a profit out of fellow Spurs fans and you list the ticket at face value + costs it still increases the price of the ticket. This can ONLY be bad news.

I for one will be forwarding the letter on with my name at the bottom as well as signing the petition.

I have had a number of non Spurs fans in the office sign the petition too. They are equally as disgusted by the concept and the idea that if they don't speak up now they might have the same thing shoved in their direction next season.

Had a good conversation with a 'pool supporter about it (surprising I know). The StubHub concept works very well in the US, mainly because the frequency of games is higher, the demand is lower and due to the length of most events tickets can still be purchased after the start of the event and downloaded in barcode form onto a mobile often for reduced prices. Even with all these positives the Liverpool board (remember John Henry's position in US sport) decided against a similar programme as it did not translate into the UK football market. If that doesn't speak volumes then I don't know what does!

I think the most important thing here is that the club failed to properly consult the fans, that's simply wrong and Spurs need to acknowledge they got it wrong.

Oh and, yup, signed.

Selling above face value for any ticket, even a FA Cup Final is abhorrent. I wouldn't even be comfortable in listing above FV to get my money back.

The biggest problem is so many parties now taking a slice of the pie.

At least with Ticket Exchange, you knew the rules, the club took a cut and buyers bought at face value.

With the current system, the bit that's left over after everyone's taken their commission (paypal, StubHub, the club) means that the seller has to put the price up to make it worth it. It's ridiculous.

Its always this way with Tottenham, a couple of good seasons and everyones bleating how they cant get a ticket, one bad season they all fuck off again, so we have either had a great team and a shit fanbase or vice versa, Or to call your bluff you can have my boys ticket at face value until xmas, great view but shit atmosphere with some really negative "fans" sitting beside you if you want.

What happens if you put your ticket on and it doesn't sell at the price you set? Is there any sort of bidding/nearest offer system? Or does it just not sell?

Most of the tickets on there aren't serious listings IMO, just people willing to forego one game if someone is crazy enough to pay hundreds of pounds for a ticket.

I sold 1 adult and 1 junior for the first home game of the season as I wasn't able to go. List price for the two tickets in Paxton was £63. My fees were £7.56 (12%) and the buyers fees were £9.46 (15%)

This is a screen grab from the actual transaction:
StubHub_zpsfc954a7a.jpg

In other words for a pair of tickets valued at £63, some poor soul paid £72.46

I sucked up my own fees but I am fucked if I am going to suck up the buyers fees too cos I'm not a fucking charity. So in the end we were both ripped off by StubHub
I also had the Paypal fees on top of this, can't remember the exact percentage, in any case they would vary depending on whether you subsequently transfer out of your Paypal account or if you spend the money directly from the Paypal account which IIRC will result in no fee.

Blaming the ST holders who sell at face value for StubHub ripping off the buyer is missing the point.
I hate StubHub but what choice do I have? There is no alternative for ST holders unless you want to risk losing the whole ST by letting a mate go on your ticket or lose the ticket price entirely and leave the seat empty. Please stop laying into people who are only trying to break even.

Completely behind this one.

Under the current StubHub agreement why would anybody give up a season ticket. Haven't totaled it up but surely you must be able to sell every ticket for circa face value and still profit after the fees given the season ticket discount?

The other way to stamp it out is to boycott the system, but can't see that being universal across the full range of fans as will always be someone who wants to capitalize financially and would not help out genuine fans who can't attend a game and need to shift on a ticket in good faith at a reasonable price.

So how much did it sell for including commission?

£20 profit on it at face value still equals a profit.

Don't you see this is the whole complaint?? :avbfacepalm:

On ticket exchange it just would have been face value

With the club taking 25% of the face value - yet no one batted an eye.

Honest.

But wrong again always right.

The bigger picture is that the club will closely monitor the sale and price of all tickets on stub hub and that will be reflected in their ticket prices for the new stadium.

It won't be cheaper. Spurs will always rinse us as much as possible.
