Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's a few a bit concerned about this programme as it could open a few eyes as to how immoral it is..
I don't mind them having it as it is only the rental of an Athletics Arena but the tax payers should not be footing the bill and this programme will highlight that fact.
Like you I agree it is a shit Stadium for football, after the initial hype, it will be hated by all fans going (home and away). There is a massive stink around the whole thing, that smell will be there for years and years to come. It's all about State Aid and I anticipate multiple clubs (not just football) will make challenges.
State aid rules in Europe are there for a good reason, which is that no government should be giving financial advantage of whatever kind to one commercial player over another commercial player.

If it's proven that there had been illegal state aid provided to West Ham through this deal, then West Ham would end up having to pay back any potential financial advantage that might have accrued to them, which could run to the best part of half a billion.

The original loan of 40m from the Mayor of Newham ( who happened to be a Spam season ticket holder ) is what really stinks.. Barry Hearn was dead right when he challenged this.

The upper tier will not move forward in the stadium, Have a look at the views in this video. Whilst I am sure you will be able to see the action on the pitch fine it does seem a large distance away. I love the jargon by Brady that you won't be any further than Wembley. Yes Brady but the views in Wembley are a lot more vertical than horizontal. Anyway from the video it does not feel like you are part of action but watching something happening elsewhere. It is a beautiful stadium but it seems very separated which will only be enhanced when the new stands are put in place.

Plus they will have 20 thousand odd seats not used.

Wembley also accommodates about 40,000 more people in front of the back row so if your using that as a comparison it makes it sound worse

Yes but I am not sure what the maximum capacity actually is in football mode in terms of seats though. 20 thousand seats will be covered partially because West Ham would not sell them but also because they are contrary to FIFA's seat viewing rules (which only effect European comps) I believe. Still yes Wembley has 40,000 more in the same space as the non covered seats.

Edit the capacity is 74,400 and Fifa's rules are...

'For all major competitions, UEFA and FIFA exclude from capacity calculations those seats which are located at a distance of more than 190m from the pitch or which have
impeded sightlines.'

Haha fucking hell 190m is about double the length of a pitch

Copy of Press Release:
Today, an unprecedented coalition of London football club supporters have come together to call for a full public inquiry into the deal agreed between West Ham United and the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) for the rental of the Olympic Stadium. This call comes in the wake of the recent BBC documentary which exposed the level of taxpayer subsidy being provided to West Ham United to occupy the stadium, and the subsequent calls for a public inquiry made by MP’s Chris Bryant and David Lammy.
We believe this deal, many of the details of which remain secret even after a Freedom of Information Act request, raises serious questions about the level of taxpayer subsidy given to a private company. We are also deeply concerned about the competitive advantage given to one club over others through this taxpayer subsidy.

A spokesperson for the coalition said: “The fact that so many supporter groups have come together to call for this inquiry shows that the issues raised go beyond football tribalism. As football fans and as taxpayers, we want to see the preservation of fair competition and full transparency in public finances. This shady deal is not in the interests of the game of football and does little to promote public confidence in the way our money is being spent.”

The organisations supporting this call are:
- Woolwich Supporters’ Trust
- Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust
- Chelsea Supporters’ Trust
- Crystal Palace Supporters’ Trust
- Fulham Supporters’ Trust
- Leyton Orient Fans’ Trust
- QPR1st Supporters’ Trust
- Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust

A petition has been launched on the UK Government and Parliament site. A link to the petition can be found here.

That is the trade off they have made. The economics of it might look OK, but the football part doesn't ... which means the economics of it won't work either in the long run.

Again I hate the hammers because they treat us like cunts however from a non-biased perspective if it's possible I think it's a bad more for the soul of the club.

Firstly they leave West Ham, they become a franchise almost Stratford Ham as it were. The area of West Ham and many businesses rely on them deeply and for many cockneys (my dad included) the club is a connection to the old East End from whom it's children were pushed off out to Essex, not the corporate space which is now stratford.

It's old an old dump of a stadium but it's close to the pitch which makes good atmosphere, the OS will be a soulless empty bowl and long term it will hurt their club as the fans lose their passion for the place. For a few extra quid the porn barons have sold West Ham down the river, and I am sure SouthStand Billy SouthStand Billy will cry about it.

So fucking glad we didn't get that stadium.

I don't know that many, but nobody I know who follows West Ham is in favour of the move. Not one.

Disgraceful that our tax money is paying for things like corner flags. They will give free tickets to kids all over London, reducing the support of clubs like Spurs and Charlton
