Great first touch for Etete's assist

Agreed very good to bring the ball under control immediately from the goalies kick and then after a short dribble a great thread through to the scorer.

Very encouraging - imo he's improved enormously over last couple of years. Developing beyond being just a striker to being a bit of a creator too.

Cheltenham won 2-1, without Etete scoring so the motm shows his overall contribution.

Clarke played 80 mins for Sunderland and received a lot f good reviews from Sunderland fans

Clarke had a couple of good moments. They could have scored from one of them.
Watching the game the name you heard mentioned frequently was Etete and not Clarke.
Early days.

Alfie Whiteman (GK) rumoured to have had his contract extended to June 2023 and to be in US ahead of a loan deal in MLS. No doubt all will be confirmed in coming days/weeks.

No news on Brandon Austin (currently 3rd GK) but at same time as Whiteman's contract and loan is announced I'd expect an announcement of a similar contract extension

Both these guys are taking up HG slots in the squad with only the remote likelihood of either featuring in a first team game. (Not that that is an issue currently).
Can't understand why at least one was not loaned already (with a callback option) or at least give them U23 games.
It's hard to have an opinion about either's ability as I doubt I've seen either play more than once.

Both players qualify as Club trained players - but only one of them has been named in the squad at any one time, so not taking up 2 HG squad places.

Last year for example Austin was on loan in MLS and Whiteman 3rd GK, this season Whiteman loaned out to a Swedish club first half season whilst Austin has been 3rd GK. Both have looked fine on loan, so have reasonable ability - not sure if that's PL or Championship as neither have played at the higher leagues, MLS being about as good as they've played at

Both started being loaned out a year or two too late imo (both now abut age 23) but that's on the club and Poch's philosophy of 'train but not play'. At least both have now about 20 first team professional games under their belts - not anywhere close to enough imo but at least its better than none.

Alfie Whiteman has re-joined Degerfors IF on loan for the duration of the 2022 Swedish Allsvenskan season.

A product of our Academy, the 23-year-old goalkeeper made 13 appearances during the latter half of Degerfors’ 2021 campaign, helping them to retain their top-flight status.

Alfie made his competitive debut for us against Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League in November, 2020.

We also have the option to recall Alfie as part of the agreement.

Elsewhere, Development Squad goalkeeper Kacper Kurylowicz has joined Isthmian League side Potters Bar Town on loan for the rest of the campaign. He will be eligible to play for both the Hertfordshire club and our Under-23s, while continuing to train full-time with us.

In addition, we have agreed to release midfielder Michael Craig from his contract.

Michael joined our Academy at Under-13 level and progressed to our Development Squad, also making two appearances in our first team squad as an unused substitute in the UEFA Europa Conference League earlier this season.

We wish Michael well for the next stage of his career.

Mikey Moore scored two goals for an E u15 side. Has been a Spurs u15 this season but often playing for Spurs u16's so we might see him playing u18 football some time next season, and in Academy Year 1 the following season

Do you remember all these youngsters, or have a spreadsheet?

This thread is safe haven, mostly, from the madness of life!

For a big man, he's very good with his feet. Offers something different
Not too dissimilar to Adebayor in physical stature, maybe less natural talent but hopefully much better grey matter!!!

He’s definitely got a shot at being a prem striker IMO, just needs the right loans, development and lifestyle.

spreadsheet - too many remember as I try to monitor down to u16's (and even ,likely u15's) with something like 24 x u21's and a dozen per year for 3 if not 4 year groups.

Definitely a more relaxed thread than most of the forum

According to LS he has been trialling at Southampton.
Bit odd to release him as he had an officially announced contract until 2023.

Might be odd but pragmatic to terminate his contract if we didn't think he'd make it at Spurs as we've got a lot of u21's - in CM we have Harvey White, Jamie Bowden, Nile John, Alfie Devine and Matthew Craig probably ahead of him.

Problem we have is so many u21's e cannot play them all or loan them out

That's a fair point but it's funny that he went from a player awarded a 2023 contract to being released with supposedly an EPL side interested in him.
Time will tell.
