Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Okay so some of us guys on here like to talk in statistics, numbers & graphs.
Sometimes it's not appropriate or welcomed to do so in player, match or manager threads, I assume as some see it as opinion or irrelevant to a subject.

To keep things separate, if you like this sort of meaningless analysis then this is the place to do it.

If you don't like this kind of thing, GTFO.

I suggest general rules like....

* No complaining about the subject
* State source for any controversial data
* No whinging about where or not your views are supported or not by a stat or graph
* Spurs related only, of course

Open to suggestions on any idea that helps to keep things relevant.

I'm going to work on a bit of data to see how our managers have performed over the start of their careers as managers, just because I'm interested to know how it turns out.

I'll start off by posting a couple I've made for the Sherwood thread:

That graph does look like we have just played against Woolwich, Chelsea and a team that was just in the CL. (Stats always have to have context so the downswing is to be expected)

We have Southampton, Sunderland, West Brom, Fulham, Stoke, West Ham, and Villa. On paper we should see an upswing with one stumbling block Liverpool.

It looks good, but I don't think that it covers the scrappy 1-0 wins enough.

Stats don't

Just to cover it before it happens (someone on my ignore list has mentioned it) stat do not fucking cover opinion. The title of the graphs isn't "This is why Sherwood is ace/ok/shit/awful" it's "First 20 games".

Anyway, just got to double check the results, but first 20 games comparison is very interesting and a bit unexpected in what it shows. Coming soon

I liked the bit where (by my calculations) the 4-0 against Newcastle put the goals scored up by 0.1.

Just putting it together now. It's from Francis to Sherwood, first 20 games in all competitions.

Interestingly weird fact: None of the managers have a win % that needs decimal point, somehow their wins all divide cleanly into 20. Strange (if you understand it)

Edit: Not a weird fact, just simple maths. Being thick. See below for clarity

They wont do - every win is 5% with 20 being 100%

Okay, little Messy with 10 Managers on there, might be best to 'zoom' in a bit to see the figures:

Data table is much clearer:

Using the first 20 games as a suggestion of 'Impact', Redknapp & Jol are actually the managers with the highest win %

AVB comes second to Gross in the 'worst win %'.

Pretty shitty no-ones managed an above 50% win average within first 20 games.

Harry should have stopped at 10 games and he would have had a pretty decent win % :harrylol:

AVB drew lots of games in Europe and in the league in his first 20, so that affects it.

It's not perfect, but then the comparison will never be as we were pretty much 10 different squads, Jol had Berba, AVB had Bale blah blah blah.

I wasn't expecting Hoddle's to be so bad. Might have been a decent caretaker based on the stats
