Which of the following two scenarios would you prefer?
1. Gareth Bale signs and honours a new 10 year contract at Spurs, but you do not know the potential which he will achieve or the injuries he will suffer.
Or...
2. Bale leaves in the Summer of 2013 but Cristiano Ronaldo arrives at Spurs as part of the deal and stays for 3 years, playing all 3 seasons at the peak level of his performance.
