That's another problem for Argentina, they don't have a decent manager for decades and once they have one Messi pick the players for him.25 min to go one goal down and going Paredes, Lo Celso, De Maria, Messi behind two out and out strikers. That shit would make Ossie queasy if he was manager
I know this puts me in the minority, but I don't really get why there has to be such a debate about who is better out of Messi and Ronaldo. I find ranking players and stuff like the Ballon d'Or to be the side of football that bores me to death.I'll go ahead and be that twat bringing this one up again, again. The longer this stuff goes on, the more I feel that for all his skill and achievement, Messi is nowhere near being GOAT.
He cannot keep falling flat on his face internationally, when it's combined with the, overlooked. detail that he's not won the CL - not even made a final - without Xavi and Iniesta pulling the strings.
On that note, nothing personal against him, as I'd readily admit he's an out of this world footballer, and I'd say Busquets-Iniesta-Xavi-Messi is the GOAT midfield quartet. By some distance. And with Messi as the crown jewel in it.
But GOAT without performing outside of a very specific comfort zone, I'm not having.
I am a big Maradona fan but the argument against this is Messi has in the past dragged the team into finals only to be let down by Higuaín when it matters. If he scored those goals Messi can be consisidered GOAT but as he shanked them he cant - that logic doesn't wash with me.I'll go ahead and be that twat bringing this one up again, again. The longer this stuff goes on, the more I feel that for all his skill and achievement, Messi is nowhere near being GOAT.

Its impossible to compare across generations (other than for fun down the pub) due to the changes in the game, the difference in physicality means its pretty much a different game.I know this puts me in the minority, but I don't really get why there has to be such a debate about who is better out of Messi and Ronaldo. That was Pezzella that made a shit attempt at slowing down Jesus, not Lo Celso. Silva (I think) played the ball up to Jesus way over Lol Celso's head, he wasn't involved in that play. And the second goal was much more on Lo Celso.
Yeah, that was just the problem, he didn't track Jesus back and stay just watching him, like Paulinho.he wasn't involved in that play.
That ball was over his head so fast I don't know if he could have caught him if he gave it everything he had. I wouldn't assign any blame to him for that goal.Yeah, that was just the problem, he didn't track Jesus back and stay just watching him, like Paulinho.
