Re Sullivan's POV
Payet should have been paid regardless as he had a contract with West Ham. Sullivan's shown scant regard for his employee by going on to mainstream media and highlighting that they have refused to pay him, does he think every talksport calling wanker Wet Spam fan is going to be applauding this stance while they load up the van ? If they are, well god help us.
Was Payet on a pay as you play deal ? No, so surely Payet has been affected by loss of appearance fees, win bonus, goals bonuses etc already..is that not how this works ? His basic wage is his basic wage, how under U.K. Law can anyone justify withholding wages, even if he is well paid it is a point of morals, the man should have been paid. It's a pathetic, cheap stunt to say it was a month's wages and worth £500k - why say anything ? ( answer is he's trying to be the big bollocks paying silly money )
If Payet has refused to play then West Spam, like every business, has a moral obligation to understand the reasons why he won't play and why he feels that stance is necessary. And should be working towards a solution with a bit of mutal respect. Bilic went public when he, Payet, has said absolutely nothing one way or the other.
If West Ham did not need to sell they would not have sold. It's all Lies and deceat aimed at self justification. Money talked and the player walked, their refusal to sell as much a joke as today's refusal to pay.
The best I can work out is his family were unhappy, he was unhappy and so took a pay cut to leave, to be with his family again and be happy again at a club in a lower ranked league at a mid to upper rank club, not like he dumped Waste Ham for the Chinese cash, which 100% he could have done.
Selling him might hurt the West Ham "brand" that lady Karen is so keen to publicize. But for me this transfer is actually one of the few times I can understand something like this happening. I suspect the refusal to play only happened after someone made leaving harder than it should have been.
Consider for a moment Rafa VDV leaving us for similar family reasons. The difference being Levy appeared to have treated his employee with regard, respect and dignity. He never stopped his wages. None of us wanted Rafa to go. Everyone of us understood the reasons why he did go. Rafa asked to go. But the the whole thing had dignaity about it.
Unlike Modric whoring himself to Chelsea, and he was promptly shut down, and he refused to play too did he not ? Levy showed at that point you don't have to sell if you don't want to.
