It is a CL loser Cup. His reasoning is real, when sides get knocked out of the CL they drop into the EL, therefore devaluing the EL as a stand alone competition, making it much harder for the original Clubs that have been competing in it from the start. And until last year the CL teams that dropped into it didn't really have anything to play for, the prize money was tiny and the competition was likely to derail the current league position they were fighting for domestically. That's chanced since the winners now get a CL place, but all that has done is protect the shit CL sides, it doesn't benefit in anyway the teams that originally qualified for the completion in the first place.hope his joking with his mockery of the EL being the CL loser cup?
For me its masking the possibility of defeat, dismissing it as important but they would take it and the CL spot it rewards you with. Wankers the lot of em, hate em more than ever the entitled pricks.
Yeah and if you also take it that if you qualify outright for the champions league through league position, again calling it the CL when you ain't champions, another issue!! But if you do qualify you get 6 games but if you go through the qualifying route R2,R3 you get extra games then finish 3rd in the section and qualify for the EL you get more games in total a possible 8 or 10! Yet if you finish 4th your out but you were the better team at the start. It is a CL loser Cup. The EL is a great looking Trophy it's had a little tweak, improving the prize money and having the winner of it get a CL place, there is nothing wrong in this, in fact I really like this and wish it was that case all those years we competed in it, it might have given us something worthwhile fighting for i.e. a CL Spot and decent prize money. But it is utterly ridiculous to have 8 CL teams drop into the competition. When you get teams like Utd., Woolwich, Dortmund & Atletico parachuted in, who are some of the wealthiest teams is the world it simply devalues the entire competition and takes away the whole spirit of the competitions by loading the dice in the favour of the CL clubs yet again.
For this reason it's a pony Cup and cup that will be contested by CL losers, ergo a "losers Cup".
And if they do win it they can do one of two things firstly milk it it for all its worth even though a few seasons ago it was dismissed as not worth winning! Or they won't appreciate the fact they've won a European trophy and the entitled fuck wits will think their better than! Well it's time they wakened up they've found their level this is where their at and will be for some time, yes win it qualify for the CL again same thing will happen last 16 that's as good as it will get, your making up the numbers simple as that exact same as the random team from France,Italy,Germany,Belguim,Holland your England's.....CelticIt is a CL loser Cup. Players start to show some modicum of interest, net a couple of wins against average teams, seats start to fill back up, ArseTV start to get behind team again, and Wenger announces he's sticking around for at least a couple more seasons.According to the Evening Standard tonight Arse are back on track lol. 5 wins on the trot and everything is hunky dory. Wenger in. :avbpray:
If these lot win the Europa, does it have any baring on the team who finishes 4th and the Champions league? They have just said on the radio it does.
Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Thanks Joe for reading through and providing the summary. I lost the will to live a 1/4 of the way through.
Ha, I didn’t read it through as the relevant stuff was at the top. UEFA do go on. 4th would be in trouble if Liverpool and woolwich both won their competitions and finished outside of the top 4.Thanks Joe for reading through and providing the summary. Ah you missed all the important stuff like what happens if the match ends in a tie and it's the first Tuesday of the month during a full moon.Ha, I didn’t read it through as the relevant stuff was at the top. Ahh, but what if Liverpool finish 5th, win the CL and Wankers win the EL....
