Think its pretty simple. Teams come to WHL and park the bus, we struggle to break them down.

Away, the home team try and gain the advantage and leave themselves open a little bit more and we exploit the spaces better.

Is that something that's only effecting us then, no other team (bar Man Utd) for what I can tell seem to have a better away than home record?

I am sure we all know the answer.....................those miserable fuckers who spew their bile on our own players rather than support our side. They are a cancer that needs to be cut out. Every supporter has the right to vent their frustration, anger, disappointment but this should be done outside the ground.

The team play with fear of losing and a fear of being slated for every mistake. When do you ever hear the word "unlucky" when someone try's to slot a through ball but it gets intercepted. It takes a vey special player to try that again, so he plays it safe (sideways/backward), unfortunately gets booed for that too.

Yep, the home 'fans' who haven't got a clue about supporting the team, and there are thousands of them, take a lot of the blame here, plus other factors.

They, along with the stewards and the rest of the nonsense that goes with a Spurs home game these days have driven me away from the Lane.

The away support had always been magnificent and in times when we were truly shocking away.

Our away form is directly contruibtable to AVB coaching. His defensive midfields lone strikers worked well against home sides as home teams tend to attack more and thus the counter attack is very profitable.

The secret now is to harness the gains avb gave us in our away form. To a more attacking game at home.

Man city away destroys all of the above theorising but they've destroyed not only teams but dreams and all known theories at the eithad.

Yep, it was clear the better atmosphere at the United game helped. Of course some tards still booed AVB's decision with Lennon but still, it definitely has an effect. The people at the top though need to stop trying to suppress the atmosphere!

I think if City didnt grab such an early goal it could have been quite a different game.

Having said that, no team is coming away from the Etihad without being skinned alive first...

Can we have Sherwood as our home manager and AVB as our away one? ;)

...
Or Sherwood sets up the attacking side of the team and AVB the defence?

...you do realise AVB's isn't just hiding... he's gone, and isn't coming back!!

Re; Home v Away form... I think it's got EVERYTHING to do with the support, and the pressure that support puts on the players when that 'support' turns negative!

Still, we got the surfer flag making it's debut on Boxing day haven't we? THAT'LL sure help gee everyone along!

It's been the slow tempo football we've been playing under AVB. It gives the other team so much time to get back 10 or even 11 men back behind the ball.

It seemed like we never even counter attacked!

The faster tempo which Tim is bringing in will make us harder to beat home, even if normally teams who play away, naturally adopt to a deeper position, with out even thinking about it. So having faster movement will catch the opposition out more and hopefully win us more games at home.

I expect to see the away form deteriorate slightly too with the way we are playing.

In general IMO, AVB's tactics suited away games and Tim's definitely suit our home style.

Cardiff support is magnificent Woolwich insipid who'd you rather play to progress in the cup.

Support does help but better players and better coaching helps more.

Tottenham support away is consistantly up there as best in the country funny how over the years our away form didn't match this.

Our home support when stirred by invigorating football can be electric too it always been a 2 way process but talented players and coaching always count more

While Ive no doubt support can help a team with confidence etc Im confident its more the nature of home team vs away team that makes the difference.

At home teams are inclined to try and win the game, this played to our strengths.
Away (at WHL) teams sit back in damage limitation (generally!) which completely negates our system under AVB
