Met a bloke on a course years ok who used the phrase “give your head a wobble”, think it’s s northern thing.

But he may have been from Hartlepool - and they do have form up there for hanging monkeys thinking they were foreigners so who knows the truth??

not really the point I was making.
Its rather like when a whole thread was taken over by people claiming their solidarity with homosexuality and how ignorant it was to make comments/jokes etc about it - yet the same people were all over the semi porn womens photo section and saw no conflict in their attitudes to denigrating women.
Everyone wants to try so hard to be oh so PC with racism, that we now have the situation where its not possible to say anything about anyone from another country, including shortening their countries name.
Yanks call us Brits, we call them Yanks (when most aren't) and nobody gets wound up.
Cloggies, Frogs, Jocks and Paddies - is that all racist now? Probably by the "ooh look at me I'm no racist " brigade - who happily abuse posters at a profound level, because they don't like it when they get the mickey taken or are disagreed with during threads.

I suggested that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I suppose its like its OK for black guys to call each other Nigger (nigga?) because I know for a fact that a lot of Pakistani's happily use the term paki, yet if anyone should say it on here - loads of people have complete shit fits (presumably on behalf of Pakistani's who use the abbreviated version themselves)
What happens if I refer to one of my work colleagues as a tall, well built, good looking Paki who's good at his job - am I abusing him racially? Because we have a guy who (irritatingly) fits that description.

I don't, as I know his name, so don't see the need to use anything but his name.

I am working on a project with a German company where we call each other Krauts and Inselaffen, and it's a huge joke, nobody melting down, looking for counselling or emotional support.

Because it's about intention, historical context and who's using it. Not simply a case of ''oh, he said it so why can't I''.

Same way when Chelsea refers to us a yids it's different to me referring to you as one.

The whole black guys call each other that is such a washed argument.

When people have been lynched whilst being referred to as these terms by people it's not up to you or I to determine whether you can use it or not.

I repeat, it's not hard to eliminate doubt by saying Pakistani rather than shorten it. How much damage does that do you? Do you lose breath by saying or typing it fully? No, so eliminate the possibility of doubt.

It's really not difficult.
