Woolwich, City, United, Villa, Chelsea, Everton and Forest is about half the Premier League membership, and it is the Premier League that makes the rules (and can change them).

They are not going to allow administrators that work for them to kill their clubs, they will just beat up the weak and poor.
The premier league are implementing UEFA FFP rules but with a few tweaks. This is not limited to the premier league.

The only way the clubs with the richest owners who want to bankroll success is if they broke away from UEFA and formed their own league, like we could call it a super league.

Hang on a minute…

The PL will point out to the clubs that the alternative is government regulation.

None of them will want that, it opens all their other business activities up to scrutiny. Chelsea, for example, would probably have to reveal exactly who the money is behind Clearlake.

No way Woolwich and United come out against PSR. Be surprised if Chelsea broke ranks with the other Americans and City are a. going to have to keep their heads down and b. have grandfathered in loads of commercial income and the highest merit payments so are a net beneficiary. UEFA standards are being toughened as well.

It does sound like a lot of City fans seem resolved to the fact they are going to be hit very hard.

I think the premier league have set the tone using Everton and Forest.

Everton clearly had a case to answer. They were buying players for many windows at big prices and it didn't pay off. They dont have the biggest income and have gone beyond the rules.

Forest are another that whilst they did get promoted, they were clearly spending big and it's not given them anything like European football.

The league seems to be coming down on everyone now and it will be the club's that have been run well over the last 10 years that will be fine.

Liverpool and Spurs would be the teams I think are quite water tight, haven't spent crazy money that they don't have.

Woolwich have spent a lot over the last few years without selling at big prices.
United the same but the argument with those two being they are clubs with genuinely big revenues.

Chelsea could very well be in a difficult place.

Brighton have made it look easy.

Daniel Levy definitely needs a pat on the back if we are completely fine and many teams get caught up in this.

Might be wrong but I think there is a limit on how much an Owner can fund the club via share issue in FFP.

I’m not certain, but you’d think there must be or else it’s an easy way to get around the rules.

Additionally, I keep on hearing there are going to be amendments to the current PSR rules in august but so far it hasn’t been said what they are.

Personally I think this ends up in a salary cap, but at a really high level related to turnover, rather than the FFP route or alongside a watered down one. There’s been some hints over the last 12 months of a salary cap coming in.

SLBNS is the account to follow when it to FFP. He is a football lawyer who all the media like the Times, BBC go to when discussing these issues. He often destroys people when they don't know what they are talking about including most of the pundits and journalists although agreeing with John Cross here.

Chelsea’s case: it’s more serious than City’s but is still under investigation at this point.

So just to make clear. Everton and Forest are simple breaches of the amount you can spend, both City and Chelsea are false accounting, non-disclosure & deliberate concealment which is a totally different level of charge. This is like comparing a parking fine with robbing a bank. However they are also vastly more complex hence the amount of time if takes to process the case with City and the charges with Chelsea.

True, therefore the punishment could or should be much more serious such as demotion and not necessarily down 1 División. Trouble being could it affect the number of places we are allowed in the Champions League?

I’m curious, when Chelsea was on their signing rampage last year, did they have a relegation clause in all those deals? If not, and they get smashed by this investigation (one day), doesn’t that effectively ensure an ongoing violation?

If the punishment is severe there's a good chance Chelsea and City don't exist afterwards
