IMO………

Ange ball can only work if we can cash in on our goal chances. The balls out strategy is going to naturally end up with opposition goals, (unless the defense is flawless) so out scoring them is essential.
We were terrible up front today. Not clinical enough, not even close.

I mean, when we had our first choice back four on the pitch this season, we'd conceded :

7 goals in the opening 11 games.
1 of them should have been ruled out for handball (Ayew)
1 of them was an own goal (Romero)
1 of them was a penalty.

If you consider Liverpools goal against us from a free kick and Sheff Utds against us from a set piece (throw in) then with our first choice back four on the pitch at the same time, we conceded 4 goals from open play in our opening 10 games.

Defensively we were working well. Teams knew they couldn't knock it long. And they know they couldn't really play through us.

We need it back as soon as possible. Or at the very least a great replacement for Romero/VDV, which we all knew.

Spurs weren't themselves for the first 80 minutes. They struggled to connect passes and lacked the intensity with the ball and without the ball (in their press, winning challenges and intercepting loose passes). Brighton on the other hand, were very good with the press from the front which made Tottenham uncomfortable and didn't allow them to settle into their game. It all seemed to click for Tottenham after Brighton's 4th goal. Unfortunately, they were 4-nil down with only 10 minutes or so to play.

A real lack of confidence out there from more than a few players tipped the scales, Son, Johnson and Kulu turned into black holes of opportunity, bad touches, bad skills, shit shots. First goal was weak ass defending, second maybe Kulu can stop pulling shirts now that he has found out after fucking around, third was a cracker but he should have had some cunts coming at his face quicker, then silly and clumsy, for some reason they looked relaxed after the 3rd that was shit.

The writing has been on the wall for this type of result. We were really poor the last 30 minutes against Everton, they quite literally walked through us time after time. We also hung on for dear life against Forest, granted with ten men, but still fortunate to not concede multiple goals.

We allow an absurd amount of opportunities. Our expected goals against surely must be bottom half. We have no ability to stifle teams defensively. We’re either on the front foot or allowing a shot on target. There’s no in between.

All that said, you’d hope it’s mostly due to injuries and suspensions, but I’m concerned it’ll catch up to us in a bad way the next couple months.

It's already caught up with us... Those injured players aren't coming back any time soon (VDV mid-Jan at best) the rest, Bentancur, Maddison, Romero, Solomon, are likely out til Feb.... and we can replace suspensions with International competition for the whole of Jan too... So that's Son, Biss and Sarr gone for a month...

Levy had better have some magic up his little sleeve this window... We've needed reinforcing for ages, but now it's absolutely VITAL, not some additional luxury!

Well done Sherlock
You got there in the end.

🤔

Glad some people on this forum have finally woken up that Spurs are being CHEATED by virtually every referee coz Sky own the league and they support Arse-nil. BTW, Spurs are allowed to have bad games, as supporters you shouldn't slag them off.

Every team has bad games but imagine how hard it is for players knowing every game you have a hostile referee.

Oh god Gobbygonk’s conspiracy posts are racking up likes, shit must be bad.

Agreed. Everyone is prone to a bad game or run of form but when you’ve got Richardson, Son, Kulusevski and Johnson all having an absolute stinker there’s not much you can do.

It’s been the picture of our entire season to be honest, we have been very wasteful in front of goal from the off, even when we’re winning. And when you’ve got two fullbacks playing at centre back you absolutely have to take those chances because you’re likely going to concede.

We need to improve on a soon to be 32 year old Son and a forever inconsistent Richardson if we’re going to make the most out of Angeball. History just indicates that Levy is going to waste the opportunity.

We were pretty shit against forest and Everton too, let's be honest. But tonight we haven't got away with it
We were actually much better last night than against those 2.
Last night was just a case of a team with no CB's that were easy to open up.
We had plenty of good chances yesterday and could/should have scored more.

This is the football all the fans who were most unhappy wanted to see though. End to end stuff. A real "ding dong" of a match.
It would be extremely fickle of those fans to complain about it now.

Leave off you prick, when professional footballers can't do the basics, then we have a problem.
And the manager, keeps playing FBs at CB , when he has them on the bench really?
That's not entitled, don't start with that shit, just because the team have fallen apart on the pitch.
Think we had 4 starting 11 players out. The rest have not played that much recently through injuries, suspensions or not being picked. Don’t buy the leggy exscuse. We played the sane v Everton after 8 days gap. Destiny for example hasn’t played since forest game two weeks ago. Check how many minutes that starting 11 have played. Brighton also depleted , played much more games yet full of energy. It’s easy to come out with leggy after losing I bet if we won it wouldn’t have been used. What is more worrying is the lack of desire and fight for most of the game. Too many players especially the forwards are lazy, don’t press, miss place passes, make the wrong choice and generally fumble around losing the ball too easy. They pressed son for the first goal deep in our half. This is the problem with the wide players receding the ball so deep where the FBs would normally be. But main thing is they are not strong enough. Compared to say salah and mane at their best no where that level. Very disappointing performance and yet again no minutes for the youngsters. One final point is the dumb arse players like kulu for the pen.
