Another Levy Punt. Typical Daniel Levy signing. I don't doubt he has potential but not league winning yet.

Levy doesn't understand, that in order to win, you must aim to have at least 20 league winning players in your team. Closest we got was the Leicester winning season. Pure Luck, 90 percent of the team were 'Firing correctly'.

We always seem to have 11 or 12 potential league winners and 8 that shouldn't be in the EPL. That's why we are constant rebuild and why I don't expect much more from Ange.

JEEEEZUS....... :pochshock2:

100%. To some extent nor can kulu. However I’m sure if we swapped them round to thier natural foot they may put ballls into box quicker and with better quality.
Kulu needs a pacy overlapper to create space for him, he’s not great 1v1 either.

Son does the same thing regardless which side he’s on, Kulu has always played right or central.

Something seemed to click for him in the second half...... He found lots more space round the outside of the oppo FB....... At least enough space to get a little more fire under his heels when he was running at players in and around the box... It's when he has the defender on their heels that he becomes dangerous.

He was also popping up in all sorts of other areas, which suggested to me there's a little positional flexibility within the framework of Ange's system when we're attacking.

We were in the West Stand today, in the lower tier, and spotted vdV behind us, Ashley Phillips to the right of us and Ndombele a couple of rows in front of us.

Somehow this idea took hold that Kulu isn’t good 1v1…

He’s fucking great 1v1.

Great thing about today was that he was going to his right and left 1v1.

Also the wings and 8s rotate really well. Maddison assist to Kane was from a rotation with Son and when Kulu rotated with Sarr he assisted Kane from that 8/10 position.

We didn't buy Min-Jae Kim
So a €50m Bundesliga player is a ‘punt’ but a player with no experience above the Chinese Super League would have represented a non-punt?
Do you honestly believe VDV, Romero, Porro, Emerson, Davies, Udogie, Perisic, will work together like Walker, Gvardiol, Ake, Cancelo, Akanji, Stones and Dias?
So you’re comparing us against a treble-winning backline that’s probably the most expensive in history, assembled by a team of petro-cheats whose inflated revenue is over a billion pounds more than ours over the assembly period?
That’s your example of a non-punt??

Very interesting seeing how Emerson played. He seemed to be playing as a central midfielder at times, and was rarely in wide positions. He's going to be an important player for us this season.

It’s the Levy way. The is no replacement for experience. Do you honestly believe VDV, Romero, Porro, Emerson, Davies, Udogie, Perisic, will work together like Walker, Gvardiol, Ake, Cancelo, Akanji, Stones and Dias?
Why compare us to City? We’re not in that positon so have to take reasoned “punts” as you call them. Not sure about all but Walker, Gvardiol, Ake and Stones were proper expensive and attracted to a title winning team
