Apart from being referred to independent commission for FFP
The Police reviewing the finances of our owner
Carlo Ancelotti suing us in the high court
and the whole board resigning on mass
Alls well at Goodison Park

There's gonna be a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. There will be a lot of suitors looking at picking up Everton as a distressed asset. Wouldn't even be concerned with this, honestly.

Cheeky bid for Dele? Let's get the band back together.

Thing is for these clubs (also see Sheff U v WH some seasons ago); any compensation is a pittance compared to the accumulated cost of relegation vs survival (not to mention the extended ramifications; having your squad torn apart, loss of sponsorships, stadium revenues etc.).
But, if Everton lose the case and are found guilty of a 'breach of the Premier Leagueโ€™s financial fair play rules', in a court of law. Then surely the PL will have to act, irrespective of any compensation settlements.

Retrospective points deduction would send them down and re-promote Lester.... But the EPL will never seek to unravel and act upon the deeper, wider effects of Everton's transgressions on everyone's points tally's over the last X amount of seasons (For example: the Scum could argue that Everton cost them top 4 last season or us a European spot this season).... Compensation-suits for those that can credibly cobble together their own case is pressumably all that remains from that point.

Trying to think of the last time there was an FFP breach punished in the EPL/EFL but everything that springs to mind was in fact clubs punished for going into administration.

Anyone?

Like they did against West ham over tevez... and as someone pointed out against man city... The club's seem to have open ended pockets... The league doesn't..

If Man City lose their 115 charges, do they also stand to be liable for loss of Champions league revs etc for all those cheated???
And this is Pandora's box. They could be sued not only buy teams in the PL but teams in CL too.

Truth is no one knows but did read somewhere that governing bodies would want to avoid this happening and would expect that the punishment handed down would somehow be structured that wouldn't prevent this but this was just someone's opinion and wasn't based on the president of prior law-breaking.
