Winks was fine, no worse than Bentancur. We had ZERO shots on target in the 45 minutes he wasn’t involved in. He moved the ball quickly and neatly.

Midfield: Winks and Hojbjerg lack the creativity ball retention mobility and vision for elite football no matter how hard they try. Their tenure in midfield especially Hojbjerg have coincided in one of our lowest periods of ball retention in my thirty years watching Spurs. This remains s the case no matter which manager picks them. Add that neither are athletic enough to be orthodox DM players especially Winks ...we constantly fall between stools. Not passers not ball winners, can't play touch football.
Wingbacks: They are vital to our system and NONE of the four we have starting are good enough offensive or defensively. We need four better players if we continue as we set up against City and Burnley.
I said a few days ago that it was actually easier to play City with our limitations. You expect to have no possession which suits the junk we have, the moment a disciplined side sit in and let us have the ball we are lost without Kane Son Lucas or Bergwijn pulling rabbits.
