Yup I would much rather go blow 50 million on a big name signing, as it's so much better to make a statement and splash the cash and have that amazing photo opportunity then it is to have players like winks, CCV and Edwards coming through the academy and being one of our own..........

Exactly....so shit that we got Rose for a Milllion....everyone knows to win the PL you need to spend 50M on Stones.
Just look at him go and how City are above us

I'm not being picky. I just think your national title is bigger than some tricked up Euro bollocks.
I'd love to win the Europa league though. Just so every game next season we can sing " champions of Europe, you know what we are". The fact that, technically of course we wouldn't be, would just make it even sweeter.

I can only presume you have been supporting the Spurs 5 minutes. Our net spend last summer was £34m, and £30m of that was on Sissoko. Our net spend last time we got in the CL was zero. In the last 5 years our net spend is the 2nd lowest in the prem. Our spend in january was a big fat nothing. Levy does not like spending, and when he does open his wallet Poch fucks it up (Wanyama the exception).
In that time we have bought land and built HW, bought up land and are building a new stadium, simultaneously building new players lodge at HW, whilst being more consistent than Liverpool in the PL.
I don't think that's bad.
Remener when Woolwich were moving how much did the spend net from 2006 - 2012?

And Forest 1 title and 2 EC's, but I would say the CL is harder to win than the old EC. In fact I think the old UEFA cup was harder to win than the EC. The hard part of winning the EC was qualifying for it. Conversely the hard part of the CL is the actual competition.
That's a great point.
Liverpool won it in 77 by beating Crusaders of Northen Ireland, Trabzonspor of Turkey, before a match in the QF v Saint Ettiene. Grasshoppers in the Semi Final and Borrusia Munchegladbach in the final.
The next year they got a bye in the first round.

Another moron with his head in the clouds.
Better than having your head up your arse. How's the player scouting going, spotted any more Harry Kane's lately?
Yeah Im so annoyed that we are not in 500M debt.

Kane, Alli, Winks, Rose, Walker and Dier for a combined 10M.......oh how I wish we had paid 200M for them after someone else discovered them.

Thats how you prove your one of the big boys eh
and be in 5th and 6th. May be if we can all sycranize our dreams we can finish behind Spurs too, dreams can come true.

Fair enough, just sounded all to American for me, I have been supporting spurs for 30 years now and I have never heard anyone call us "the spurs" until today, but each to there own I guess! :dierpochhug:

Never been to a game then?

"Welcome to WHL.... The famous home of THE SPURS"

Lots of balloted tickets were returned for this, more than likely as it is the 1730 kick off and the fact it's on BT sport, heard some going on general sale tomorrow morning for members so keep a eye out.

You are right, there is some available now. I bought mine last night from stubhub at reduced price.
How did you hear about it? Just for future reference...

Ahead of that clash, here's Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino on the latest team news:

"Danny Rose had a scan yesterday and now we need to wait until Monday to see the specialist. Nkoudou and Trippier are still out.

"Jan Vertonghen is better and starting to run which is very positive. Hugo [Lloris] trained yesterday and today and will be available.

"Erik Lamela's progression is good. Day by day he's getting there. It's important to be cautious but positive."

Why do they need to wait until Monday to see the Specialist. Surely for the money we pay they could get an opinion today. He will look at the scan and give an opinion. Surely Rose must be anxious to know and not want to wait over the weekend. Does not sound as if he will be playing soon.
