1882: South Gloucester Spurs In The South Stand

My best mate’s dad Roger, who lives in South Gloucestershire and is a life long Spurs fan, made the long trek to White Hart Lane for our Europa League game against FC Sheriff. Along with his son, Dan (my best mate), they made a round trip of close to 8 hours to taste 1882 for the very first time. Neither of them had been to White Hart Lane for a considerable amount of time, in fact not since Timothee Atouba was dashing up the left wing had they been.  However I had made them a vow, that things were very... 1882 Made Me Feel at Home

In the days before I became a season ticket holder the Park Lane is where I would always buy my tickets. I would sing and celebrate wildly whenever Spurs scored. However, it’s been four years since I got my season ticket in the East Lower close to Paxton Road and in that time I have turned from a supporter singing all the songs to one whom rarely opens his mouth. Only when celebrating a goal will I rise to my feet and cheer. If I stand for longer than a minute I am told to sit down and if I... Read more »

1882: Come Along and Pogo

Queuing up to get in White Hart Lane paranoia set in. There was too much ticker tape on the floor outside the stadium. Was this a backlash from the Villa away game, or had AVB, to prove a point, banned 1882 from attending? In my head I pictured the ticker-tape man slumped up against a burger van weeping throwing bits of the Metro in the air on his own. Thankfully though my paranoia was just the side affect of misspent teenage years. As I made my way up to Block J the feet stamping and singing calmed me, the area was alive and... Read more »

1882 movement: smokebomb/pyro reaction

Since the smoke bomb incident at Villa Park it has been suggested that the 1882 movement was involved in some way. This is, categorically, untrue. The 1882 movement is simply a way for likeminded fans to get together and sing a few songs without feeling embarrassed by or ostracised from others in the crowd. It’s not a perfect system, and indeed there have been a fair few worthy criticisms since we started, but one of them isn’t that we encourage the flouting of rules that are there to protect all supporters (whether you agree with them or not), and we... Details on tickets are yet to be confirmed, but we’ll pass on info as soon as we know it. Those already familiar with the Movement might remember the game against Barcelona in the NextGen Series last season where we took 600 to support the young lads. Last season’s development squad were familiar with our support, and clearly enjoyed our passion when we took 1350 Spurs to the Underhill to watch the lads... Read more »
