Europa League v Qarabag

Was in Europe for my honeymoon and made sure to book a stop in London. Was planning on the Palace match that was to be that Sunday, but it got pushed. Luckily the draw had us at home, so I was able to make it to the match.

Gave up the early pen, then Son had a brace (his first goals for the club), Lamela scored and had a boner after, if anyone remembers, and N'Jie made his club debut.

Did a stadium tour the following morning. So thankful that I was able to make it to the Lane. The experience was immense. Big fan of Chick King too.

24th August 1991 first home game of the season was against Chelsea, we lost 1-3, Lineker scored our goal. I was sat with my step dad in the East Stand upper.

First game: Tottenham Hotspur v Leeds United, Wed 19 August 1970. Was a birthday treat for my eighth birthday, we lost 2 nil but all I remember was how fantastically green the pitch was.
Best Game: UEFA cup final v Anderlect

1992 per season friendly at Brighton. 1-1 draw with good old Vinny Samways scoring ours.

Think my first home game at the Lane was a 3-1 win against Utd in the league cup 1998. Remember Ginola being different class.

I always thought the first game I went to was spurs Bolton 77-78 div 2 season then I looked at the records and the Bristol rovers 9-0 game was before the Bolton game.

The strange thing is that I distinctly remember that the Bristol rovers game was not the first time I went to the lane.

That's means spurs 9-0 is the first game I can recall going to.

23-10-1971 Spurs 6 Forest 1. I was at the EUFA cup final home leg against Wolves as well.
From what I've read so far only Bobby Smith, Mick Cooper, 57 Varieties, Spurshaker and Mrs Perryman pre-date me. (And she doesn't look old enough).

I'm having Deja vu all over again

1st game was the 0-1 to the goons in may 71

was absolutely mental event for a first game.......and horrible all at the same time

I too lived abroad prior to that so I had to wait 4 years before I could go.

1981 charity shield. 2 - 2 with the Villa. Fans climbing up the walls to get in, bottles of whiskey being swigged from, kids down the front.......so different now!!

First WHL game was Southampton in 83, we won 1-0. Cup game I think as we battered them in the league, unless I am confused with years? Remember having WHL pointed out to me as we left Bruce grove..............

A game like that is either going to make you or break you!
I blew me away - I had never experienced anything like it - even Chinese new year in Singapore seemed like a Church quiet reflection meeting. I have no idea what happened to the guy who took me and told my parents he'd look after me, and have no recollection of buying a ticket to get in, I just remember getting ushered forwards and ending up on the concrete base of either a stanchion or a floodlight pylon.
The collective anguish when that header went in was solid grief and I remember having tears in my eyes at the final whistle.
But I was sold, totally and utterly sold. I have never looked back or had a second thought since then.

1983/4. 1-0 at home to notts county. archibald scored. got a series of buses across london to get there, and then the same on the way home.
second game, i got the 2b to brixton and then got the victoria line. much easier. and about 2 weeks quicker
