This is what I love. My best mate of 40yrs is Woolwich, he loves them as much as I love us. He was an ST at Highbury but when they moved to Emirates he loaned out his ST after 2yrs as he genuinely feels embarrassed by the their fans. This year was the first time he decided to start going to matches again as he has gotten older and more chilled he though he can just take things with a pinch of salt. He was obviously gutted we beat them but he is devastated more with their fans. Even worse, was just how intimidating we still are. He was lost for words (as I was to be honest) with the vocal support we also had for that game, for him this was a more than a defeat, it was utter humiliation.
I feel his pain because I fear what will happen to us when the stadium is built. I can only pray that we have looked very hard at what they did up the road and don't repeat their mistakes.

FWIW - I see Spurs working with the local community as key to when the new stadium is built as Tottenham is moody as fuck and if we can incorporate them we are onto a winner.
Agree about their support. It's embarrassing. Their away support is much better than their home support, but it's not a patch on ours.

I'm worried about the new stadium too, but I don't think it will be as bad as the Emirates. Our core support is simply better than theirs whatever the stadium, I think this is largely to do with them being a more successful, more glamorous club and an obvious choice for new breed fans due to many factors e.g. the area the club is in being trendy, the media loving them etc.

The Emirates is also bad because it's a bowl, I'm not sure what the plans are on that for ours but I want to see four sides. Also- the hardcore from Highbury did not all move together so they are/were dispersed around the new ground. It's important we have an area which the Park Lane/Shelf migrate to in the new place. Personally, I strongly think Tottenham being moody as an area helps rather than hinders the atmosphere.

I'm sure the new place won't be as good as the Lane, but I'm not worried about it being as bad as the Emirates. Hopefully we can get some cheaper tickets with the bigger capacity, which would improve things, but I'm not holding my breath.

Watched the Liverpool game on BT Sport last night. I could only hear "Everywhere we go", not one song from Liverpool. Yids doing us proud.

My excuse for not going? I've been to Anfield four times. I've not seen Tottenham score a single goal there.
