It's not that complicated.

1. Dembele is gone and his replacement, Sissoko, cannot disturb opponents and create spaces in the same way
2. Kane, Dele, Eriksen and Son have barely started any matches together

Yeah, lets ignore that we have a pair of lobotomised rhino's in midfield, Kane trying to do his Lional Messi impression, a front line that can't stay onside, a manager who persists in playing a stupid formation every week, and then making it worse with his substitutions, Lucas Moura doing an impression of Aaron Lennon, Danny Rose doing an (bad) impression of Timothy Atouba....Let’s blame the fella who’s not signing his new contract...

pfffttt...

I mean, I never really thought we were prolific goalscorers in the first place. We had a solid defence and a good finisher. We had a few games where Son went wild, but we won a lot of close games this season. Now we are on the other side of those decisions.

We've scored 7 goals in our last 6 games, is that bad?

We'd scored 9 from our previous 7 fixtures before then.

We've scored 2 less this season than we did at the same stage last season bearing in mind we've had Kane and Dele both out for long periods and 3 less than the 16/17 season when we were arguably at our best under Poch.

Its the goals conceded column you need to write an article about.

Culprit A: That fucking god-awful midfield diamond.

Serious question. At the top tier of the modern game, has ANY team or manager successfully deployed a diamond for an extended run of games? It's nothing more than a novelty to catch opponents off-guard. The media wanks over it, and then it gets ripped to shreds by proper competition.

No don't blame Sissoko, he had more assists than Dembele in a season, he also had more crosses and forward runs. You may blame the other 4/5 players upfront.

Not for a few years.

Milan won the CL with a diamond under Ancelotti. Juve played it though a few years back early into Allegris reign with Tevez and Morata up top.

It's very Serie A.

Are you implying we won't make top 4?
Europa league is not possible to take place in the new stadium, therefore Elexit from first round.
It was an attempt at humour against another pointless, miserable thread. We’re not playing for two weeks. FFS.

:pochfacepalm:

Most if not all outside top 6 PL teams play the same way against us, which is contain Spurs for 60 mins or so and then have a go and for some reason few times they succeeded. Examples are saints, burnley, watford, wolves...etc. However, in most of those matches our forwards had the opportunity to kill games but somehow they failed. The formation probably is wrong and Poch too slow to react.

Make your mind up... Is it finishing OR the formation OR Poch????
