Average. We have better players at his position in our team.

He'd walk into our central midfield for a start.

Unless of course you really think Winks and Sissoko are better than him. Which would make any argument you have on here from here on out void.

He's not CM. He's Eriksen/Lamela type of player, more attacking. And yes, average at best. We need better players than him.

No he isn't. Nothing alike. Next you'll be telling us all that his brother is not a CM.

Care to name anyone who's not an average Croatian? Actually don't. You've proven your knowledge of players and their positions. Take it to the January thread if you must.

Rakitić, Busquets, Arthur, Vidal are CMs. Rafinha often plays instead of Dembele or Coutinho. When Messi was hurt, he was playing instead of him. If he's CM, than Coutinho is too.

Coutinho. The guy who regularly plays CM for Barcelona (when Messi is fit) and Brazil.

Come on, who else isn't a CM? Modric? Rakitic?

I'd class him as the same position as Sissoko. Not really an out and out CM but could do a job there if needed. He'd be a good signing if we could get him like Lucas in the 20 mil bracket. Anything much over that though probably wouldn't be worth it.

lol, you okay today?
If you think Rakitic/Arthur/Modric/Kroos/Winks/Dembele are similar to Coutinho or Rafinha then I'm out of this discussion.

Google is helpful.
Read couple of pages you'll see how they appreciate him 12 - Rafinha Alcántara - Page 264

Ah, so you haven't actually watched him play. Makes sense. Just basing your opinion on what Barcelona fans say.

The same forum that said Barcelona are hideously average and Spurs should smash them at Wembley. That lot. The entitled lot who are mostly from England and support Barcelona.

Is he good enough to start for Barcelona? No. Which for some reason means he isn't good enough to start for Spurs. The state of it.

Far from it... That's nonsense.
In comparison to our rivals it's certainly not far off it. We cannot control a game to save our life, teams just waltz through our midfield press and we have little to no guile or creativity in there since Dembélé has began to decline. Dier has been horrific this season, Wanyama and Dembélé are pretty much done, Winks is excellent on the ball but his pressing and positional sense are extremely poor, and Sissoko is Sissoko.
Someone on here recently posted the ball retention stats from midfielders this season in the league and there wasn't one Spurs player on the list. There really is no positive way to spin that, it's shocking.
