Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yesterday on NBC the announcers said something along the lines of;
If Tottenham can hold on and win this game they will stay in the title picture, but they still have to play both City and Liverpool again.

Shouldn't the proper commentary have been;
If Spurs can see this match out they are well and truly in the title race as they still get to play both City and Liverpool again.

You'd think so, but then again in our midst we've got people declaring it "impossible" for either to drop points; despite both teams having dropped a bunch of points in the last month or so.

Chicken or the egg? :kanehand:

Looking at how this season has unfolded, I fully believe that we'd be top if we were in the new stadium. Those Liverpool and Man City games alone go differently at NWHL, in my opinion.

I don't mean that as a dig at ENIC about the delays, but rather to get excited about next season and the future of our club.

It's a mindset thing. Something that will change in time. I found myself falling into the same pessimistic attitude of 'well we're fucked because we can't go away to Anfield and the Etihad and win both.'

It's part of what I've loved about our fanbase for years: the ability to be self-effacing. Hoping for the best but fearing the worst (at times). Poch has made it clear though that we need to turn ourself into winners and part of that is to think like winners. As a positive, I see the word 'Spursy' used a lot less by our fanbase on the whole over the last three years.

As much as they are insufferable cunts, if Liverpool had our fixtures their fans would be 100% backing themselves to win those pivotal away matches and claim the title for themselves. It may not be the most rational attitude but you can't claim they don't have belief.

Catching though

Plenty of PSG fans topless tonight
Shame no women

All that armpit hair could have made for a crackin' scarf too.

#NoHalfnHalf

Is there an unwritten rule that one can only go topless at a game if you're a pastey, flabby bastard?

Found via Newsnow. Our current points tomgames ratio has us on 88 points at the end of the season. Only once in Prem era has that not been enough to win the league. Shows how Amazon the guys have done when you think of all of those great Premier League Champions over the years:

Tottenham Hotspur find themselves well in the race for the Premier League title with just 12 games remaining.

Spurs haven’t spent a penny over the entire season, they have been without a real home stadium, have been battered with first team injuries, and have been forced to part ways with Son on two occasions.

Despite all this, they are only five points behind both Man City and Liverpool, with a game in hand on the former.

This shows the real quality of this Spurs side, and some new stats have emerged to explain just how unlucky they would be not to win the League.

So far, Spurs have 60 points from 26 League games, averaging out at 2.3 points per game.

If they kept up this level of performance, they would finish the season with a rounded figure of 88 points.

Only once in the history of the Premier League has a side finished on 88 points or more and failed to win the title.

This came back in 2010/11 when Man City pipped United on goal difference on that famous final day.

The average Prem winning points tally is actually 86.43, so Spurs are well on course to beat that, but can they beat both Man City and Liverpool?

Dare I say....

Spursy?

Would much rather this kind of Spursy than Lasagnagate or being the only team who qualified for the Champions League only to lose out because the eventual winners finished lower than us in the league.

Looking back on some of the luck we've had it really is insane how little has dropped our way when the crunch comes. Still, I'd take 88 points every season no doubt. If the boys get it it's a great achievement

Spursy.

Don’t we already have the record for best GD for a team that didn’t win the title? We were something like +61 two years ago.
Yes - we scored the most, conceded the least and still didn’t win the league.scored 1 more than Chelsea (winners) and conceded 3 less than United (6th)

To borrow from Charles Dickens...

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

We are the best we have ever been... but every year someone else is the best they have ever been as well.
