With them in the race for a Europa spot, no chance they'll be letting up. 8 days before they play Woolwich, that should be more than enough time to get today's joy out of their systems
Agreed. If they were playing them on, say, Wed I wouldn't fancy it. But Deeney and co. will be well up for battering them cunts into submission - minus Sokratis - come Mon night!

With City already LC winners aren't Watford (as FA cup finalists) now already qualified for EL?

That rule was scrapped a couple of seasons ago. If City win the cup 7th place gets Europa. If Watford end up winning it the 7th place Europa slot is null and void.

Bit of a touch really as it means Leciester, Wolves, Everton and Watford need to get results against our rivals for 4th. Tasty times

Decade plus the rule was scrapped. It became farcical as both finalists were often already in Europe so a place was going to losing semi-finalists.

Football script reads cup hangover on that one sadly.
I don't think so-its monday so they have a full week to get over today and they love playing woolwich at home.
Woolwich have no bottle away, one win since november iirc?! even a draw would be sweet for us;)

So after today, should we get 4 wins, 1 draw & a loss in our last 6 games it would mean 77 points for our lot.

For Chelsea to top that, based on the assumption that they win their home games vs West Ham, Burnley & Watford would need to achieve 5 points in their games vs Liverpool away, Man U away & Leicester away to take them to 77 points. They are currently 5 behind us on GD so would need to make that up as well.

For Woolwich to top our tally of 77, based on the assumption that they win their home games vs Brighton & Palace at home they would need to get 8 points in away games against Watford, Wolves, Leicester & Burnley. This would equal our tally and bring GD into play.

For Man U to top our tally, based on the belief they will get maximum points from seemingly easier games at home vs West Ham, Huddersfield & Cardiff will need a further 7 points from their games vs Everton away, Man City at home & Chelsea at home. They would also have to make 8 on their GD to us.

We win 4, draw 1 & lose 1 and Chelsea need at minimum 1 win & 2 draws vs Liverpool away, Man U away & Leicester away. Woolwich would need either 3 wins or 2 wins, 2 draws in away games vs Watford, Wolves, Leicester & Burnley & Man U would need 2 wins & a draw vs Everton away, Man City at home & Chelsea at home.

If Woolwich win 2, draw 1 & lose one of their tough fixtures it won't be enough for them. If Chelsea only get 1 point away at Anfield & Old Trafford it won't be enough & if Man U lose any of their games vs Everton away, Man City at home or Chelsea at home it won't be enough. The holy grail is win all at home & vs Bournemouth away and it'll be too far out of reach for 2 of the 3. 4 wins and a draw should be enough but its dicing with others & a real long shot of unfortunate results going against us in 10 games involving games vs our rivals where they could go either way.

Basically if we amass 77 points, we need at least 3 of their 10 tricky fixtures to drop kindly for us and we'll be alright.

Man City, Liverpool & Leicester are our biggest allies for the next 6 weeks when it comes to our rivals. Let's be honest there are worse teams to be relying on.

Basically if we win 4, draw 1 & lose one, two draws for either of our rivals won't be enough so long as we don't burn our GD. Smashing Huddersfield this weekend could prove as important as just getting 3 points. Need to win and win convincingly to out some GD distance between us & if we do, any of our rivals that drop points in 2 of their last 6 games each will struggle to surpass us.

We need 4 results go in our favour, 5 ideally pretty much out of 18 games involving Woolwich, Chelsea & Man U should we win our remaining home games and draw away at Bournemouth or Man City.

There’s a reason why these teams were looking up at us in the table for the majority of the season (still are). None of those scenarios you lay out for them getting to 77 points seem particularly likely. Less likely than our path, at least.

Fuckme what a long post. Did not read it all. Gave up after the first paragraph. Basically let's just try and win every game. No control over others and er let's see how it pans out

As you're not a fan of something digging a little deeper I'll summarise for you and anyone else not keen on reading about another supporters opinion or views on what is a fan forum.

If we get 77 points Woolwich, Man U & Chelsea can't afford to lose points in 2 of their last 6 games.

18 fixtures and 4 negative results combined for two of the three should in theory be enough if we do well in our home games and draw one away Nikesh. Of course if we go on to win them all its irrelevant but let's be honest we won't win them all so it's kinda good to know what we need to happen with the others

All well and good but what if we don't win 4, draw 1 and lose 1? There is absolutely no certainty this will happen. We may win 3, draw 1 and lose 2. Thats 74 points

West Spam and Bourmouth are the key games. For Spam its their cup final and they will be bang up for it, Bournemouth away is tricky because it's a Monday night tv game after all our rivals have played. Pressure will be on us and we sometimes don't do well in these situations.

The only games im comfortable about are Huddersfield, Brighton and Everton. We shall see

I think we need to look at form, ours is the worst in the top 6 at the moment and that needs to be addressed, I think the new stadium and a run of notionally easier fixtures will help.

The top teams not in the top 4 race are Leicester and Everton, so my concern will be if we're needing a result on the last match to secure a CL place on the last game.

Huddersfield should be beatable

Man City away, anything we get from this is a bonus

Brighton are hard to break down but unspectacular by they're 15th in the form guide and the only problem is if they're fighting relegation and upping their game.

West Ham are tricky as they would love to spoil our party. They're quite an unpredictable bunch and this could be a hard one.

Bournemouth are on some very poor form at the moment, if they're still playing at their current level we can win that.

Everton could also be a tough one, especially if they are in contention for something at that point.

Difficult but doable I'd say...

Who can say - well you at least!

Getting an early goal against Huddersfield and then trying to add 3 or 4 goals to our GD , without sounding disrespectful to Huddersfield is a good point. Lets hope they don't save their one big performance for us.

It's worth another point though and would help us massively.

I have said 76/77 points are needed. I don't think we will actually need that much.

The Premier has too much integrity and the top 6 have too many games to think your assumptions will come to pass.

We are the best placed. We should noy even be in it and you can read that both as a positive comment and a negative one.

Saved by our home games, hopefully. Though we could really do with a result against City too.
Although Woolwich don't play a big team it's the smaller ones they fuck up against and 4/6 are away which they're terrible at. The big game against Chelsea and Utd determines which one gets top four in my opinion.

Looking at the fixtures coming up for all involved, we will know a lot more about where it all stands by the end of April.

Woolwich 3 away games against Watford, Wolves & Leicester is pretty tricky, Chelsea play Liverpool & Man U away & Man U play Everton away, Man City at home & Chelsea at home. It's an absolute must we get 9 points over the next 18 days.

Being in the quarter finals is great but it means we have a fixture once every 3-4 days for our next 6 fixtures. Biggest spell of our season as it's the biggest chance we have of putting a little daylight between us and the others

Watford, Wolves, Everton & Leciester going for a Europa spot potentially has done us a right favour. All three should be well up for a scrap. Such an interesting end to the season as every team the top 4 are playing has a little something to play for, be it league title, Europa possibility or relegation
