Poch presser link in Ajax thread

Sissoko out for 2 weeks
Winks being assessed
Looks probably back

Sissoko will be a big miss. Not just for the Ajax game but the knock on effect withntwo must win games coming up as it means less fresh legs for Ajax.

We really need Dier to step up now, he needs to play an important part to take pressure off of Wanyama & Winks. Big effort from Eric required

Any updates on Winksy, Mousa, Lamela and Serge please?

Spurs injury news: Serge Aurier (hamstring), Erik Lamela (hamstring), Moussa Sissoko (groin) and Harry Winks (groin) – continuing on-field rehabilitation and remain unavailable. Harry Kane (ankle) – undergoing rehabilitation.

None returning = bad news, disappointing

No new injuries = good news

Hopefully we're just being cautious for the Ajax game.

Poch at the press conference didn't sound positive on Lamela, talking about another injury hit season and he 'hoped Lamela would be back before the end of the season'

Have we seen him play his last game for Spurs - crazy having one of 5 AM's frequently out injured reducing us to 4 with 3 to play each game when we have long period of playing every 3 or 4 days

Winks with yet another surgery required. It's so rough having the amount of players we've had out this season:

Lloris - 8 games injured
Vorm - 6 games injured
Gazzaniga - injury free season
Sanchez - 10 games injured
Alderweireld - injury free season
Vertonghen - 20 games injured
Foyth - 8 games injured
Rose - 8 games injured
Davies - 5 games injured
Trippier - 5 games injured
Aurier - 20 games injured & counting
Walker-Peters - injury free season
Dier - 22 games injured
Wanyama - 25 games injured
Winks - 10 games injured & counting
Sissoko - 10 games injured & counting
Dele - 20 games injured
Eriksen - 4 games injured
Son - 6 international games out
Lucas - 4 games injured
Lamela - 18 games injured & counting
Kane - 13 games injured & counting
Janssen - 30 games injured
Llorente - injured free season

All in all our 24 men listed above have missed a total of 252 games between them. An average of 10.5 games missed per head with this number probably going up to around the 11-12 games missed on average by the time our season comes to an end.

We have actually averaged 10.5 games per player missed this season. 252 times we haven't been able to rely on a clean bill of health. Unbelievable really & it goes to show how well we've done when tossers see 12 league losses and get the arse about it. No matter what happened during the World Cup etc nobody can expect that kindness of return for a squad of 24.

Edit: we also had Dembele out for 20 games before selling him so the total games injured between a squad of 25 is 272, which brings the average games missed per player up to closer to 11. Shocking

Yet people trott out the line we lack squad depth or we have a thin squad. Th every definition of a strong squad is being able to compete whilst experiencing injuries, this is what we have done.

See Admin Admin this is where the "informative" is necessary, feels weird clicking "like" to this post telling us about all the injury shit and time lost to them etc, but it is very informative!

Does anyone think we need to have a good look at our medical department ?

Problem lies with FIFA and PL.

FIFA for arranging the WC when they did, knowing that after it the PL players would have zero time for pre-season. Simple solution - reduce the number of participants in WC so it finishes earlier by having more preliminary rounds/knock out stages during the existing international breaks and start it a week or two earlier.

Instead of which fuckwits at FIFA want to expand the tournament and make it worse. I can see PFA taking FIFA to Human Right Court at some stage as its not fair to the players.

BTW, most of the injuries this season have been muscular (eg hamstrings) which happen when players are tired having played too much without a break and/or missing pre-season which is meant to condition players to play a reasonable amount of games in a season. The problem gets worse when a squad has 6 or so players out injured as the others need to play more every 3 or 4 days as there are fewer players. Its really not rocket science and should be well known within FIFA if they think they know about football.

Didn't help with PL pulling the start of the season forward by a week either.
