Doesnt score enough goals to warrant such a big price tag. You have to score in 15-20 in all competitions in that position

Even if I agree that he should only be of interest to us, if Palace aren't being silly with their pricing, as they're likely to be, then 15-20 goals is an arbitrary and ridiculous standard to set.

In a Hodgson team, with McArthur, Kouyate, and Milivojevic starting every match when fit in the three centre of mid, and Benteke/Batshuayi/Ayew to play off up top, then 15-20 goals is Messi-like standards. The three CMs are decent enough with their strengths, but very little creativity there. I'd struggle to find a centre mid anywhere in the PL with less creative output. 90% of Zaha's goals, he's have to carve out of nothing. All while being doubled up most of the time, because opponents knows very little threat is coming from anywhere else.

£65,000,000 for Zaha when for an extra £10,000,000 you can literally sign Brandt, Diawara and Berge.

Again, smart signings please. Not just throwing some money at a player who barely scored any more goals than Lucas Moura did last season
and how many of those have you actually seen play? and how do you know that figure will pay for all 3?

If Tottenham Hotspur manage to bring in Nabil Fekir then his arrival may well be worth losing Christian Eriksen for.
According to Le Parisien, Tottenham are keen to snap up Fekir from Lyon in the summer, but his arrival would surely only happen if Eriksen was to depart.

Lyon want big money for the forward, who nearly left to join Liverpool for £53 million last year (Telegraph), and Tottenham would surely only pay that if they needed a replacement for Eriksen.

Brandt more than the others, watch most if not all of Leverkusens games this season. £22,000,000 release clause.

Berge, only the Europa League games he's played in this season. 2 years left on his deal, £25,000,000 was quoted in January.

Diawara, barely anything this season due to his lack of play time. Not many players boss Man City though. 2 years left on his contract. £30,000,000 again was quoted in January. Probably demand lower now based on playing time.

bus-conductor bus-conductor has seen more on both Diawara and Brandt than me. So hop on his dick.

Either him or Brandt would be perfect if we're looking to actually replace Eriksen with as close to like-for-like as possible.

Fekir like-for-like with Eriksen?

:goonermong:

In the sense that he would provide the exact same composure and creativity as Eriksen as a direct replacement in our team, yes.

Diawara, Berge, Gomes and whoever else we've been linked with outside of Brandnt wouldn't.

Fekir is a better dribbler though, just can't play in the 8/10 hybrid that Eriksen can in a midfield 3. Brandt can though. Fekir can play successfully as a false 9 though, so again more depth and allows us to fuck off both Llorente and Janssen without needing a true replacement.

So if we were ever to get rid of Eriksen for £80,000,000 or whatever he is going to leave for. Getting both Brandt and Fekir in would be a smart move.

Brandt with his £22,000,000 release clause and Fekir with a year left on his contract would see us strengthen our team and forget all about Eriksen.

And we'd still have change to spare.

We need a net 5 players of proven quality or real potential to become top drawer.

Nothing else will do and if we do lose Eriksen then we may have to reshape how we play more often than not.

Fekir is average and a #10 - he is not a like for like for Eriksen.

Fekir has a dodgy knee doesn't he? 55-60 mill is a lot to pay for someone in that situation

Depends how you define dodgy knee.

He's missed 10 games through injury (for his knee) since 2016.

He has a year left on his contract too as well as sacked the agent that denied him his move to Liverpool last summer - so I'd be amazed if it's anything like that amount and to be fair, even if it is, it's cheap in this market.
