Butland on the bench for Stoke seems to have fallen from grace, from England GK (9 caps) to wilderness.

Glad to see CCV starting though
BBC said Butland conceded 10 goals from 14 shots this season.
Stoke rock bottom.
We must have got a decent loan fee-I can't see how this helps CCV long term.
Early days, though.

Who else do we think might be loaned out ?

Maybe :
- Brandon Austin GK (allowing Whiteman to be 3rd GK, and De Bie to become u23 GK )
- Timothy Eyoma CB (might be affected by Alderweireld/Vertonghen situation, might even be retained by Poch to train with first team and get appearances ?)
- Japhet Tanganga CB (As Eyoma)
- Jonathan Dinzeyi CB
- Shilow Tracey
- Marcus Edwards AM (loan last season in Netherlands)
- Sam Sashoua AM (loan last year in Spanish 3rd division )

Think that's probably all the candidates - all the players who were born in 1999 or earlier.

Possibly Tashan Oakley-Boothe might join that list even though a 2000 born, as hes already been on a preseason and trained with the first team. So what else will he do this coming season unless a loan ?

Not saying all will be loaned out, but not sure what extra experience Eyoma and Tanganga would get from playing u23's again this season ? But could Poch want to try to get one or both of these to train with first team to get them into first team contention ?

But other younger players who will be training with the first team this season (based upon preseason) might well be :
- Troy Parrott
- Harvey White
- Jamie Bowden
- Broooklyn Lyons-Foster

So in summary - maybe another half dozen loans ?

We still have a very bloated u23 squad with no chance of everyone playing, even after the recent departures and loans we must have 25 - 30 eligible to play ,- including the likes of Parrott, White and Cirkin et Al who had made the jump up to u21s last season.

So surely there must be s few more loans or exits in the last few days of TW as I cannot see them all training with first team which would be the only other route for those too old (and too many) in the u,23 squad.

Today Austin being with first X1 might suggest that both he and Whiteman are sharing 3rd GK duties - but does that mean De Bid gets to be u23 GK ?

Tanganga, Eyoma, Hinds, Oakley,-Boothe, Dinzeyi, Tracey et Al all other players who's futures probably need deciding before end of this TW.

I know Onomah has moved to Fulhsm permanently but good to see him getting his debut in his preferred role as a CM rather than as Poch invariably played him as a RAM which never really worked

CCV started. Got a yellow as Stoke gave up 2-0 lead to draw 2-2.
Penalties to decide who goes through. I suppose we must hope Leeds so JC gets a bit of game time? o_O
Edit: Stoke win on pens.

A fuck up leading to a Leeds goal and a yellow card for CCV
Butland fired the ball straight at CCV with his back turned and the ball bounced to the Leeds player who scored. But CCV in the RB position failed to stop the cross which led to goal 2.

Worth the reminder that u19s play the same clubs as the first team play in CL, so we play Bayern, Olympiakos and Red Star Belgrade , usually on the same days as the CL matches.

Didn't get down to the training ground of our games last year, really missed doing that and now we are back at The Lane there will be less of a panic in getting away after each game.

For anyone who hasn't done this I highly recommend doing so.
