I didn't say they're on the cusp of something magnificent, merely that they're better than their position suggests.

You think they're going to be there at the end of the season?

West Ham were right in the shit not long ago, and Palace, and Southampton's squad is far, far better than both of theirs. They've probably got the strongest squad in the bottom half.

No win in eleven would suggest that they are fucked. But why let PL facts get in the way of a good argument. Just because they drew with us does not make them certainties to survive.

West Brom drew with us in November and with a manager change they are a point off Saints, hardly an endorsement now is it?

Kane is still suffering effects from the illness, his touch and strength were a bit below par I think, and there are probably a few others still not quite right.
I think Erikssen missing wasn't the issue (we beat Leicester 6-1 without him least season) it that Pochettino tried to do similar to what we did in that match with the lineups and for this game it didn't seem to work very well. (In that game we had Dembele, Wanyama, Sissoko in midfield.)
Sonny just couldn't seem to get in the game.
Davies is looking back to his best though, much better to not keep rotating just for the sake of it.

Lets hope the lads can get better soon, and no more of these illnesses please. Get them quarantined!

No win in 11 but if you looked a bit deeper at those results you would see they recently got a point at Old Trafford were unlucky not to come away with something at the bridge and were close to beating Woolwich but for a last min goal.

Not a good performance (obv). Heavy touches and selfishness (not releasing early enough and then getting tackled) from seemingly everyone. You'd think after that Swansea match, we'd deal with the conditions better. Poch had a bad game as well. Lamela for Eriksen seemed obvious, not sure why he messed around with Sissoko instead. Waited way too long for subs. Need to kill it during this upcoming rough stretch to stake our claim in the top 4 after everyone won with ease this weekend.

Players had a virus before they flew, this is fact and reported, this means it was in our camp at Hotspur Way. Kane was ill again in Barcelona as reported, fact. Players Eriksen and Lloris now have a virus, fact. Now other players not named are also reported to have a virus, led to believe some played with it today, fact.

I have NEVER said Lloris or Eriksen caught this virus before they travelled, suggest you find where I said this. The only names I mentioned about prior to the trip have been Kane and Winks, it's there in print, no-one else.

And yet more insults.
"Its there in print"
Some no name jabroni on Twitter said it ...ohhh it must be true.

Btw do you play the victim in real life as well? Calling someone a "plum" and a "chump" is a personal insult in case you didn't know. Just because its not as severe as my insults towards you, doesnt mean its not a personal insult. The difference between me and you is I openly admit I do it...You on the other hand instigate it and then moan and cry when someone retaliates ( I can quote other posts to prove my point if you like). It's actually quite sad.

You raise a really relevant point Deuce. Its something i have noticed yet tried to put aside..., our "heavy / first " touches, be it Dele, be it Dembele etc, have been very poor. In dominant positions, even in games we have won, some of the lads seem to try and hold onto the ball way too long.

I can think of so many instances where we built pressure, pressed well, and then lost possession as a result of either a poor first touch or trying to dribble past 3-4 defenders.

By the way, i think Dele and the likes of Dembele are top notch, but this has become a trait of our games recently. Even Eriksson this year has struggled in this department. Having never played the game, and speaking only as a Spurs / football fan, I struggle to fathom why ?

The "no name jabroni" bloke on Twitter is a reporter who's only job is to report on Spurs, he does nothing else (works for no other publication that I'm aware of other than Football.London), he ONLY writes and covers Spurs. It's not even an opinion that can or can't be agreed/argued with, he's reporting it as a state of fact. Either a player is ill or his not, he's reported that 'X' was ill. Why on earth would he lie about this, what purpose does it serve? Something that you from the position of your bedroom, with all your Spurs insider contacts refute, disagree with and say never happened and is "absolute bollocks".

So it seems you have nothing left (never had anything to begin with let's be frank) other than to dispute the credentials of a specialist, professional journalist reporting on factual information. What are your credentials BTW, that give you credence to your claims and counter claims are correct and his are not to be believed?

Post after post digging your ever increasing sized hole. You've been owed and found out yet again. So fucking boring though, all this shite, all this vitriol and abuse over disputing a fucking virus. When you've learnt something you didn't know, it's usually rewarding and usually customary to thank the person that you have leaned something from, It's totally bizarre to launch into a tirade of personal abuse towards the individual, unless you have opted to take the position as a know it all who knows fuck all.

Don't ever change though mate, it might be easy but great to watch you unravel like a ball of string.

I can tell you're the sort of person that watches his mate have a fight, then sneak punches the other guy when he's already on the floor and proceeds to run away. The next day bragging about how you knocked that person out.

Odd conclusion to draw from our recent dialog, considering it's been just me and you. No sign of me watching anyone, no involvement of another person. You are the guy on the floor right now.

We had a bad day and Southampton played well - they've probably realised that they might get relegated if they continue playing like they did at Wembley. So I'm confident they will take some points of our enemies in the remaining games.

As for our team, it was Poch who got it all wrong yesterday. It doesn't happen often, last time it happened was probably the home game against the Chavs.
Dembele was terrible yesterday and could have been sent off easily. The referee was incosistent, but Mousa has fouled several times before getting the yellow. Should have been off at the 50th for Wanyama who looked back to his best.
Same goes for Dele, way too late in most occasions, we have got a player who is known to make our game a bit faster, it's Lamela. Another substitution late.

These changes could've gotten us the three points, because Southampton dropped deep around the 75th and focused on countering us. And I don't get it... you either go for Lamela to keep passing around the box or you bring Llorente for some aerial threat. Trippier was subbed on, so why not try it with Kane and Fernando upfront?

Very frustrating yesterday. Poch needs to learn making subs. We are almost back to full strength - we don't have the players to win us a game on the bench, but they are good enough to change the formation if needed.

Not gonna read through all this thread - I imagine it's a melt-fest - so apologies if these points have been made.

* Thought Davies/Vert were our best players yesterday.
* Thought the ref was incredibly lenient to both sides which meant the match degenerated into a stop/start snooze fest towards the end.
* I've seen comments on this forum about Poch making subs too late at times. It struck me yesterday that this could be helped by players not taking ages getting ready to be subbed on! I swear Lamela had about 15 layers on that he needed to strip off before putting his shirt on. I don't consider myself old (37) but what happened to the days of players ready to go when sat on the bench??
* Still confident we'll get top 4 but do think we need at least two wins from the next 3 to make it easier (stating the obvious I know) - prob against Woolwich and the Dippers.

They also drew with Woolwich and United in those eleven, But why let PL facts get in the way of a good argument.

West Hams early results suggested they were fucked, as did Palace's.

We never win at Anfield! I recall one win in the 15 odd years? 2011. I’d take a draw now in that one. We should be aiming to win the games at Wembley

All the more reason to stuff them there this year! Imagine the lift a win there will give our season - not to mention half the people on here. Doesn't mean we can't win the Wembley games too - no-one will be complaining if we take 9 points from the next three league games :)

Yeah I like your optimism it’ll just be very difficult. If we line up with 3 at the back and rose and Aurier i’d give us a shot
