I'm a Cockney Malteser 👑
There's so much doom and gloom on here recently, that I thought I would pick up the mood a tad, by posting some extracts from a couple of books I got for my birthday.

For starters:

" I prefer players not to be too good or too clever at other things, it means they can concentrate on football".
- Bill Nicholson

"When a player had the ball and didn't know what to do with it, he'd say 'the birds are flapping in your head' "
- Ledley King on Martin Jol talking double Dutch

"A man capable of breaking both leg and wind at the same time"
- Jimmy Greaves on Paul Gascoigne

"It would be great to have in in my (Brazil) team, but he was born in Wales"
- Sandro on Gareth Bale

Jermain (Defoe) is only five foot tall but he was about eight foot before the game"
- Robbie Keane looks up to his team mate

”Even now, when I go over to my mother’s house and dig out the old tracksuit tops I wore, it makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I like to think i am part of a special family. I am no longer connected with the club on a daily basis, but I’m delighted with every win and sad about every defeat.”Steve Perryman

”Bill Nick always wanted us to win with style and entertain the fans. If we won a game and we’d played badly, he was disappointed ”Cliff Jones

”Bill eventually became Mr Tottenham Hotspur, and produced such a dazzling team at White Hart Lane that they won the double and played the game in a way that was an object lesson to everybody”Brian Clough

”My brother was a West Ham fan.He took me to Upton Park but when I came to my senses at the age of about 12 I became a Tottenham fan”Teddy Sheringham

The biggest regret of my footballing life was leaving White Hart Lane in 1970 ... my interest in football weakened after that. I was heartbroken.
Jimmy Greaves

Tottenham Hotspur has a huge following across the world and I have great admiration for the passion the fans show for this team.We are determined to give the supporters the kind of attacking football and success that we are all trying to achieve.
Mauricio Pochettino

The only way Marc Bircham will be going to Tottenham is if he buys a f*****g season ticket
Terry Venables

When Sheringham signed for West Ham I’m sure he claimed to be joining his boyhood heroes or maybe he was just misquoted 🤔.

Robbie Keane had a lot of boyhood heroes but I like him as a pundit and he seems to be a Spur

Us, WH, Millwall; we're all Teddy's team when it suits him, yet he still talks Utd. up ahead of 'em all given half a chance to be seen as one of them.

A story told by Teddy:

When he left to go to Utd and in his first season won nothing. The spurs fans sang
"Oh Teddy, Teddy, he went to Man Utd and he won fuck all"

The following year Utd won the treble and the Utd fans sang
"Oh Teddy, Teddy he came to Man Utd and he won the lot"

Spurs fans response
"Oh Teddy, Teddy he went to Man Utd and he's still a cunt"

The Jimmy Greaves one on Gazza reminds me of a time when i truly loved football.
Wake up with a hangover, one of my dads full english, Saint & Greavies.off to spurs with my mates via a pub or two.

Did anyone happen to see "Money For Nothing" (BBC programme where they make new stuff out of things people are chucking in a skip) yesterday?
Someone in Walsall was throwing a very old blue suitcase which got turned into a coffee table.
They kept the surround of the case including some stickers stuck on it...
Blue and white Yosemite Sam "Tottenham", Speedy Gonzales "Spurs" and what looked like Wile E. Coyote holding a magnetic saying "Super Magnetic Tottenham".
Interesting Warner Bros. tie-up...
Insert "That's All Folks..." joke here...
