We are in the lift on our way up to the penthouse, we don't need to care about what's happening down in the gutter anymore. Enjoy the moment and then move on, higher and higher we go.

Sorry, but just because we've had one better season it doesn't mean they have ceased to be our closest and most despised rivals. I'm amazed that league position is all it takes in some fans to deem them unimportant.

See, this is why I don't get the "don't give it a name 'cause superior" attitude. We're not a bigger club than them in terms of money. We're not bigger than them in terms of trophy history. They have a large contingent of plastics thanks to their success in the PL era, but had it been us we'd have those plastics as well.

This whole "don't give it a name because we're better" doesn't actually seemed rooted in any logic to me. Now, we may well become bigger and better than them over the long term thanks to our building for the future, and that would be the time to truly regarded them as small time and say "forget a name", but we just aren't there yet so I find the thinking behind "don't give it a name this year" based on a misplaced idea that one season better than them makes us vastly superior. It's like a denial that they are our biggest rivals, wherever either of us are in the table. I mean Christ, even on here we have a piss take thread that is some 900 plus pages long, but we shouldn't give yesterday a one off name because that'll show 'em we don't care? It's bollocks. Any true Spurs fan will always care about the Scum whenever they are in the table, just like any Liverpool cares about Everton, Newcastle/Sunderland, Celtic/Rangers and so on.

Woolwich are the scum, but right now not only am a laughing about us shoving their stupid day up there Arse-Anals, I'm surprised about how little I care about them. I'm more concerned about catching Chavs. Had Woolwich been on a high and closer in terms of league placing I think the magnitude of the win would have been greater. In reality Woolwich have been woeful on the road this season, not beating them at The Lane would have been on a par with some other great upsets. We've just added to their already miserable season. I sense it's the end of their era and they now go the way of the dippers and United.

It was plain to see how much of a non-competitive also ran they have become, the lack of team spirit, game plan and organisation was limp compared to what they came up against. These cunts have turned into mediocrity and long may it continue. All they had was their stupid day, now even that has gone. Just loving how bothered these Goon cunts are on social media, their tears are so salty.

Bollocks Salmon. Just admit you're wrong about this. I couldn't give a fuck about them - they're cunts. There you go again "Any true Spurs fan blah, blah, blah". Who are ya?
I'm someone offering an opinion. Or are you going to persist in looking for a fight for the next few days?

Let's leave the cunt offs and just enjoy the events of the past few days. All of us are happy to have put those cunts into yet more misery and wipe out that date that they go looking out for every season.

The thing I have taken away from the last 48 hours is they care about us a lot more than we do them. And we've obviously meant a lot more to them than they've been letting on over the years or they wouldn't have this wankfest every year. Not giving a fuck is far more irritating to them than any stupid name.

I'm also sick to death of hearing about this so called powershift. Please someone tell me what does this even mean, how the fuck do you measure this, it's all a load of bollocks made up by the media, and lapped up by goon fans. There is no power shift, because there is no power in the first place, just football clubs playing football matches. Fucking football clichés are the worst.

Just because other clubs' supporters do it does not justify that we do it too. We are not sheep, we are Spurs.

Focussing on clubs that are below us in the table is not the Spurs way. I couldn't tell you when we were guaranteed to finish above the Spammers in the last few years because I don't care about them.

The culture of our great club is to dare to dream: the downside is that we are vulnerable to ridicule when things go wrong. But I would rather be a fan of a romantic club that looks up in hope, rather than one than looks down in fear.

'It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.'

Finally, ask yourself this: would Bill Nic have any time for a "St. Woolwich/Arseringham/etc Day"?

I think you know the answer to that...

COYS

There was a Michael Cox (gooner) article about Eric Dier yesterday, there was a very telling parargraph in it...

"The 2-0 victory confirms Tottenham will finish above Woolwich for the first time since before Wenger took charge but Pochettino is keen to state that Spurs have far loftier ambitions than that. In truth, Woolwich’s ‘St. Totteringham’s Day’ celebrations became pronounced in the years when they weren’t regular title challengers, almost as a consolation for genuine success. There’s a sense that this Tottenham side aren’t looking over their shoulders, but instead looking up the league table towards the summit."

I get what ur saying (don't agree with the "Any true fan..." stuff) but I think he's essentially right. The fact u are calling them cunts in itself show u do give a fuck about them and so u should.

It's nice to say they are insignificant etc but the truth is they are our biggest rivals/enemies and football is built on those sorts of conflicts. I'd hate to be a club that had no real rival or big derby game, Chelsea being a prime example. Now that's a club that are insignificant. They can buy all the trophies they want, it means nothing and the second that oil money dries up they'll disappear back down the table and no one will give a shit.

Woolwich will always be a grudge match and I'm going to enjoy the fuck out of the dominance we are hopefully going to have in the coming years.

Having said all that. Copying their pathetic St dickheads day is cringeworthy.

What the media and a lot of fans forget is that the original "Day" was St. Hotspurs Day, 14th of April, to mark the 3-1 Tonking of the Arse in 1991. It was invented by Stuart Mutler, editor of the rather fine "The Spur" fanzine. You could buy cards with a picture of Gazza's free kick, it was a bit of fun and a way to make a few bob for the magazine. It wasn't a big deal, the internet didn't bang on and on about it, I doubt that 99.5% of the media had any idea of it.

Typically, the Woolwich lot copied it, managing to suck any originality or wit out of it in the process.

Me, I liked Pochettino's reaction when he was asked if he knew what it was. Confusion, "No?", then the sort of withering look that a parent gives a child who thinks its funny to fart at the dinner table

What makes us "bigger and better"?
Figuratively... I don't mean big as in 'size' ...more that we're the Bigger men (and Women) who don't need to stoop to such childish lows as naming a day that doesn't really exist... And then pretending like it does if you do it enough!!

Finishing above them matters to me, it matters because they pretend it doesnt, it matters because i have a very hard time recalling the events of 20 + years ago and it matters because we made it happen at home, with a superb performance.

Was gonna post exactly that.. It's all our fault!
St. Hotspur's Day DID have its origins at The Spur in the first place... but in 1991, the Internet was barely in its' infancy,
and I'm not even sure if The Spur even WAS online back then?

I used to write for them occasionally (blatant)... But it was very much in the old school photocopied paper format of the '80s fanzines than anything more elaborate or 'high profile'... In fact, the day they went to A4 size 'Glossy' publications (with a Navy blue COLOUR Cover) was monumental in terms of progress!

But I know one thing... the likes of Stuart Mutler didn't need their own personal Police escort out of the ground 'cos their online profile made them easily recognised by opposing fans!
What a state of affairs this has become!!

The St Totteringham's Day nonsense was a direct (and let's face it, at the time felt justified) response to us, and was probably only meant to last a season or two, before stability was restored....
Who was to know that almost 22 years later those cunts would still be banging on about it...?
But worse, was that until last Sunday, we hadn't been able to do anything about it!!
Well the buck well and truly stops HERE!!
