CLASSIC ENCOUNTER

Back in 1994, the two sides met in the FA Cup with Posh holding their Premier League opponents to a 1-1 draw in PE2 thanks to a Jason Brissett goal. Tottenham forced a replay late on which they won on spot-kicks at White Hart Lane after local youngster Andrew Furnell saw his spot-kick saved.

is..... is that Vinny Sideways????

Just seen the highlights, that must have been a painful watch live.

You have to hope that Adam Hayton and a lot of his team mates have alternative career plans based on that performance.
Looked like men against boys...which is what is was!
Felt like we lost pretty much every 50/50 in the air and were getting muscled off the ball. Peterborough only made 3 changes from their league 1 lineup at the weekend so a pretty strong lineup (in our draw against Wycombe a few weeks ago they made 9 changes). We on the other hand had 3 or 4 players out for internationals on top of injuries. We had 2 17 year olds in our starting back 4 against their 28 year old forward. Couple of good moments but more or less went as expected. Our youth team does look quite thin at the moment though!

If that's emblematic of what's generally going on in this comp then it's utterly pointless...... So-called big clubs compelled to send their kids out to get steam-rolled by seasoned adults? ...That's just stupid.

Not good! Our underage teams are pretty weak, with some good players dotted about.. Harvey White, Romain Mundle and Max McKnight are the three who played to a decent level last night. The first two won't be good enough to play for our senior team regularly, McKnight is just 17 so I'll reserve judgment.

Hayton was poor but 3 x 16 yo and 7 x 17 yo featured. The rest were 18 and 19.
In contrast Posh featured many 1st teamers.
We actually started brightly but defensive mistakes done for us.
Mundle is really fun to watch.

I don't think we're compelled. I think we get invited and choose to enter a side into the competition. The rules say that has to be an academy team. Could be wrong though.
