I'd take R9 in that debate. If R9 had the body of Christiano he would have won 10 Ballon d'Ors. His talent was on the genius level.

I'd argue we never saw the true peak of R9 either his knees had gone by the time he was 22. What he could have achieved without injury is scary.

Injuries are unfortunately a big factor. Messi hardly ever gets injured and Bale’s career arguably could have been vastly better during his prime Real Madrid years if his body wasn’t always breaking down.

Ledley King would also have been considered as good as Terry and Ferdinand if he didn’t have chronic issues.

I saw a video about R9 and it explained they expected this knee problems. They said man was no meant to be that explosive and move in that way, they said it was only a matter of time before his body started to break down.
