Speak to any cannabis user of a 'certain age' and they'll spin you all the usual faux hippy shit about it: "Actually being good for you, that they give it go Cancer patients, so why not sell it at Tescos? ...and that every great song or film EVER was written whilst on the stuff..."
...whilst at the same time nervously looking over their shoulder constantly as paranoia sets in!!

A drug is a drug.... whether it's rolled up and smoked, or poured out and drunk.

When someone is murdered with a gun, you don't get people bemoaning it wasn't a knife, 'cos that's somehow 'less' of a weapon... the murder is the problem, not the manner in which it's carried out.

Same with gambling addiction... losing your family and all your money on the Horses, is no better or worse than had you lost it all betting on the outcome of Crown Green Bowls!

And its the same with the Alcohol/Drug/weed debate.

It's Addiction that's the problem...
They're BOTH addicts... it's just that for some reason, Snoop Dogg thinks he can take the moral high ground on this one 'cos he's 'aged' better!

Nicotine? caffeine? sugar?
Where do you draw the line?

I just watched a documentary film about Bobby Robson and Gazza was interviewed. Not sure how old the documentary was, but Gazza looked truly dreadful. I do fear for his health, both physically and mentally.
Such a shame, he was such a joy to watch play.

The more harmful and volatile of the two is condoned and to whatever extent promoted as an acceptable part of a society... The other is still legally outlawed by many so-called civilised nations.

It's a comment about capitalist and moral hypocrisy (albeit with an obvious pro-ganja position).

Note: Bill wasn't a weed kinda guy....

on ADDICTION.... the method is a by product of the problem.

Some people are addicted to wanking... doesn't cost anything, but can ruin your life apparently!!!!!

This will probably be up your street , I believe the guy who wrote it is the same guy who got sacked by the government for his views on ecstasy being harmless several years ago ? An interesting read I thought.

The article plows a furrow I'm largely atune to - The media/alternative motivations behind prohibition etc..

Fundamentally, I do think peddling the notion that drugs are "harmelss" is dangerous and false. However, whilst a society awash with drug abuse (including alcohol) is clearly destined to breakdown, for me the hypocrisy and lies surrounding substances are just as dangerous... Compare the death rates of illegal drugs vs alcohol or even more poignantly nicotine.

Let's at least get the education aspect of things in place.... Many deaths are preventable (whist ignorance still pervades both sides of the general debate) and a lot of advice for potential users (and quitting advise/support) is highly agenda ridden (not to mention hampered by a severe lack of legitimate research).

(If you're gonna ban anything... Ban nicotine. Its a no-brainer.)

Inevitably refused to touch upon the point that Snoop was intending to highlight.

Rapidly softened up; presented as a comedic issue and under-pinned by fake sentiment about victimizing Gazza even though we've had government sponsored posters similarly highlighting similar physical deterioration of meth & heroin users in the past.... Aside from any matters of morailty surrunding consent from Gazza himself, in an ideal world I'd like to have thought the cautionary side of the 'tale' could have at least been acknowledged.

Fat fookin' chance of that tho.

I'm just baffled that people think my post about Snoop likely not knowing who Gazza was is worthy of dislikes :sandro:

Snoop didn't make the image, he shared it days after it was doing the rounds on social media. It's more social commentary than a dig at Gazza (as well as boosting Snoop's ego a bit, I'm sure).

Snoop hasn't responded to anything from Gazza himself because he clearly has no idea who the fuck he is, and that he's the other guy in the meme he shared.

Oh well
