Reviving an old post here because I am all for this. Was thinking the other day we should adopt one of Chas n Dave's regular songs as ours.

"Ain't No Pleasing You" is such a good old song everybody knows the lyrics to and I think is quite a good tongue in cheek reference to ourselves, the infamously hard to please WHL faithful!

...
Especially given Chas's fight with cancer...

Be fucking great to hear us bellowing out a song that doesn't reference a fucking Woolwich or Chelsea player for once, but instead celebrates the whole Tottenhamness of it all...

Well I built my life around you
Even when you were shite,
But you never cared about us
Now we've seen the light
Oh Tott'nam, there ain't no pleasing you

We stood on the Shelf, sang Yiddo songs
But even that was wrong
we should've known it
All along
Oh Tott'nam, there ain't no pleasing you

You only had to win a game
And we knew you'd do it
You had a 10 point gap
But you went and blew it
Now every song I ever sung
Was only sung for you
But now you, can go and do (one)
I've sung my last for you...
I'm a partial Jew...

Cos I ain't gonna be made
To look a fool no more
Yi'done it once too often
What do you take us for
Oh Tott'nam, there ain't no pleasing you

Followed by a chorus of 'Booooos'!!!

Needless to say, I will NOT be singing this tomorrow!!!!
Awful

Very old one, always liked this old school chant, when it is sung.

At Oldham Athletic I've often been told
That the team to remember, the team to recall
Are the great Man United the best of them all.
They came down to Tottenham in 75
They went in the Park Lane the Paxton, the Side,
But Tottenham were many and many to ruck
And the great Man United got battered to f**k
Toodaloo, toodaloo and the great Man United got battered to f**k.

We returned to Old Trafford in 78
We didn't have tickets we tore down their gates
They wasn't expecting the Spurs to turn up
So the great Man United got battered to f**k
Toodaloo, toodaloo and the great Man United got battered to f**k.

I was at that game in '75. The Mancs, tbf had a huge mob that day, but they got absolutely battered all round the ground and up and down the High Road. I think one of them got killed at Seven Sisters station, which was horrific.
It was the '70s and the High Road was often like that.
Chelsea, Woolwich, West Ham, Man U, Liverpool and Everton was carnage.

I wasn't born, but heard a few times it was a yid who was killed at Seven Sisters that day, unless I'm getting it confused with another time. Definitely heard about a yid killed at the station after a game with United, and Spurs taking a big mob up to Old Trafford (lots of coaches) to get revenge the next time we played.

My understanding is that It was kicking off and a civilian panicked and pushed the emergency stop button on the escalator and everyone went tumbling. The fella was killed as a result.

RIP

Has this been mentioned?

Sung to Liverpool to the tune of The Liver Birds.

If you're standing, on a corner
With a red scarf round your neck
Tottenham boys will come and find you
And we'll break your fucking legs

I think that was 38 coaches to Old Trafford.
32 from London,and 6 from the Midlands

Are you not getting the death at Seven Sisters mixed up with one of ours who died on the escalator at SS a few years after this.

It was November 1981 we had just beaten Man Utd 3-1 Roberts scored a brilliant header.Unfortunately I was at seven sisters as this happened. There are different versions but mine is utd came in from the seven sisters road entrance as spurs were on the platform from the high road.Tottenham run up the down escalator as it was coming down with utd knifes were pulled and then one lad fell backwards. He was 18 and there use to be a memorial sign up don't know if it's still there.
